"Life used to be much simpler" Giveon spoke out to Julian as they joined one another at the Moulin's residence with a glass of Moscato. It was two pm in the afternoon, rainy and gloomy.. the sun hadn't seemed to shine in over two days, something was coming.
"oú est la fille?" (Where's the girl) Julian asks his friend of many years, Giveon smirks to himself while thinking of his sweet and innocent Georgia. "Avec son père bâtard" (With her bastard father) Giveon says, making them both laugh.
"So it's him?" Julian questions. Giveon takes a sip of his wine and shrugs.
"Whoever's stealing our product will soon be dead." Giveon says sternly, earning a nod from Julian.
Georgia's POV
The rain hits my window hard, almost sounding like pedals with thunder in its background. The sun was gone, yet my curtains remained open. Soft jazz played on my tv as I worked on school work from my computer.
I hadn't spoken to Giveon since Saturday on his families yacht. I've been questioning my worth a lot recently.. what's a black American girl doing with a wealthy French guy.. I still don't know much about him, and he's already treating me like his wife. It's almost as if I'm trapped in a fever dream.
"Georgia" a soft voice spoke out from behind my door, following along with a light knock.
"Come in!" I semi yell. My mother came in giving me a small smile, while softly closing the door behind her. I set my computer off to the side, and scoot over, allowing her to sit next to me on my bed.
"I like what you've done in here, it gives Georgia." My mother beams, making me laugh.
"Thanks mommy... what's up?" I question feeling a little concerned. Ever since I turned 14 my parents have been big on giving me my own privacy.. the only time they'll knock or call for me is when breakfast or dinner is ready... or if my mom wanted to go on a shopping spree with my fathers money.
Something must be happening.
"Your father has gone back to the states." She says, causing me to be at a lost for words. We'd only been here for about two weeks now, why would he need to go back to the states so suddenly? And without letting me know?
"Is he okay?" I question, making her nod.
"He's fine, I guess it had something to do with his work.. I honestly have no clue. He didn't even have the decency to tell me, instead he left a note.. and a text message." My mother looked down at her palms as she traced through each line. She was upset with my father, and she had every right to be. Since when did he keep secrets from his own family ?
"That's not okay mom." I say, feeling myself become very upset.
"Yea.." she whispers..
"But you don't worry, you focus on school. Your father will be back in a week. We'll welcome him back with a nice family dinner, I want you to help me make it." She grins.
"You're not upset? That's messed up mom.." I trail off, feeling my mother's sadness.
"That's my husband, he's your father.. and he's a man. Get use to it if you're still dealing with that young man. Men will make you upset often, it's love that makes you overlook it all." My mother states before planting a kiss on my forehead.
"Anyways, dinner will be ready shortly." Mother says before leaving me to drown in my own thoughts.
How could he just leave without telling my mother ? They're married, what the hell is a text message ? You communicate through text message with a girl friend of mistress.. not your wife.
I had so many questions with little to no answers, and I needed someone to talk to.
