First day on the job! | Chapter 3

You woke up at around 8AM in the morning, sitting up almost immidiately. You were supposed to have the meeting in an hour, so you quickly grabbed the uniform you got earlier and put it on. You looked at yourself in the mirror and, you had to admit, it looked pretty badass on you. You then took your katana, that now looked brand new. And yes, you were able to get the rust off. You sheathed it at your side and you put your shoes on, ready to head out. Your brother was still asleep, but you didnt feel like waking him up or write him a little note telling him that you were heading out.

So you left the house and headed towards Public Safety.

When you arrived it was 8:30. Thirty more minutes to spare. Yout then found a seat that was near Makima's office and you sat there, waiting for the 30 minutes to simply pass by. It was really silent, and not a soul has passed by in the hallways.
Ten minutes passed, only 20 left. You then herd footsteps approaching, and you thought it was miss Makima. But as you turned your head to see who it was, you noticed a rather tall guy with dark blue hair and a weird ponytail that was sticking up approach you. He then silently sat down next to you, lighting up a cigarette in the process. It was akwardly silent between the two of you for a hot minute, before he decided to speak up.
"You seem new here... Are you waiting for miss Makima too?" His voice was rather deep, yet soothing in a way.
You turned your gaze to him and nodded "Yeah. She arranged a meeting where ill meet the members of my division"
Your words seemed to have piqued the man's interest, he blew out the drag of his cigarette "Oh, so you're the rookie..." He kept his gaze on you as he said that, though it sounded like something he said to himself, rather than you.
You felt a surge of surprise rush trough you "Wait so you're in it too?"
He nodded, still seeming somewhat emotionless "Yeah. Im Aki." He said half-heartedly as he finished his cigarette, putting it out and stuffing it in his pocket, since there wasn't a trash can nearby.

"Y/N." You said with a straight face. He nodded, taking in your name and memorizing it. A moment after, he heard a racket coming from the end of the hallway, so did you. He immidiately turned his head towards the sound "God not again..." He sighed heavily as he placed his hand over his forehead in frustration. The people causing the racket emerged, walking towards you and Aki. One of them had orange hair, and the other person was actually a girl with pink-ish hair and red horns. They seemed to be bickering over something, and Aki already had enough of them

"I said you need to stop eating my breakfast every goddamn morning! Its not my fault Aki always forces you to eat healthy food!" The orange hair said annoyed

"You wont tell me what to do! Im allowed to eat whatever i desire! Including your stupid food!" The girl bursted back at him

"Well if my food is so 'stupid', then why the hell are you even stealing it in the first place!?" As the girl was about to make a comeback, Aki got up and stopped them

"And how about you both calm down and stop fighting over nonsense so early in the morning?" He said calmly, yet with an undertone of annoyance.
The orange hair sighed "Finee...."

"Whatever. He started it though." The girl accused, crossing her arms and pouting

"Did not! Liar!" The orange hair snapped back at her, but Aki stopped them both "Just shut up." He said sternly.
After a moment of the chaotic duo calming down, they noticed you sitting in your seat, observing the whole situation in silence
"Oh, who's this chick? Waiiit a seconddd... Aki.. is that your girlfriend?" The orange hair smiled mischeviously at Aki, clearly teasing him.
The red-horn girl seemed to be interested in what the orange-hair said, so she joined in "Topknot has a girlfriend!?" She chirped, before glancing over at you.
Aki's eyes went wide at their false assumption, and your face turned red "What! No im not!" You waved your hands in defense
"Sure you arent! You must be! Kissing and cuddling with Topknot!" The red-horned girl said as she towered over you, invading your private space. Her aura rather enthusiastic and lively.
Aki then grabbed the girl's shoulder, signaling her to back off "Thats enough, Power. She's not anything like that. She's just a new member of our division."
You raised an eyebrow. You were gonna be with the chaotic duo in the division too? You already had a bad feeling about this. But you decided to keep it to yourself and not judge them immidiately.
"Ah! A new aquaintance i see! I am the all-mighty Power! So you better bow down to me and show me some respect, human!" She crossed her arms and stuck her chest out confidently, acting like she's the centre of the Earth or something. Aki just sighed and decided to stay silent, while the orange hair narrowed his eyes at Power. He then threw an arm around her shoulder, looking down at you
"Yeah, dont listen to what she says, she loves making up things alot..." He said nonchalantly, but Power felt rather offended
"Not true!" She pouted, and the orange hair sighed.
"Anyways, im Denji, nice to meet'cha" he said as he stuck his tongue out and flashed a peace sign.
"Well, nice to meet the both of you. Im Y/N"
"Cool name." Denji added, while Power stayed silent for a beat.
You nodded, not smiling "Thanks"
You then heard someone's footsteps again. You thought it was Makima but, again, it wasnt her. It was a woman with an eyepatch, and turquoise hair. She had a cigarette in her mouth as she waved to the gang "Heyyy everyone!" She exclaimed, almost sounding drunk. Denji and Power beamed, greeting her while Aki just sighed softly "Hey Himeno... Had a drink again?" He asked, sounding somewhat hopefull that it wasnt true despite his deep and emotionless voice. Himeno laughed softly and patted his shoulder "Hahahhh... Nah, im sober Aki, dont'cha worry..."she paused, and Aki narrowed his eyes at her slightly "That's exactly what im worried about..." Himeno couldn't help but laugh and she put out her cigarette "Im just still sleepy is all... And who do we have here? Are you the new member Makima told us about?" She said as she leaned down and smiled, turning her attention to you now.
You nodded, confirming her statement "Yeah, im Y/N. Nice to meet you... Himeno, right?"
She chuckled "Yep, thats me."
And suddenly, Makima approached all of you out of nowhere, smiling "Oh, great, you're all here. Perfect." She said as she opened the door to her office "Come in." She motioned to everyone to enter. Suddenly, Denji had a thought and he asked Power "Dont you think we're forgetting someone here?" He said it in almost a whisper
Power looked at him confused for a second, trying to process his question. A moment later, she shook it off "No! We are all here, im sure we arent missing anyone!"
