chapter twenty nine ; somewhere only we know

the members of b-komachi, listen to the demo tape that himura sent over, titled pop in 2. " whoa, himura-san's song is so good! " ruby commented while looking at the laptop as mem-cho, crossed her arms with a big grin replying, " it's just a demo, but it's good enough to sell! " 

y/n was also there, smiling a bit because it does sound good, her foot slightly tapping against the floor as her attention got to the sighing kana, " i feel sorry for this song. you're going to ruin it with your singing voice. " 

" your tongue is still as sharp as ever. " ruby stated at kana's thoughts making y/n laugh a bit at the scene. 

" don't worry. we can always edit our voice with cubase or pro tools. doing that can make even a tone-deaf singer sound half decent. " mem-cho reminded as kana shook her head while replying, " geez, don't you feel sad saying that? " 

" but kiddings aside, we have our own song now, yeah? " y/n spoke as the three agreed, "probably the only good thing in this. " kana replied, smiling a bit.

as they called it a day, like time, days passed, and the day for filming has arrived. y/n was quiet with her headphones on as she put them down around her neck, the loud music still playing on her headphones. insane mozart's requiem mass in d minor, huh?

at that exact time, akane spoke, " thank you for letting me come along. " kana did not look enthused, as y/n just sighed when kana asked, " why is there an outsider here? "

" you said this was a relaxation trip so... " aqua replied, trailing his sight from y/n to kana after tokyo blade was over, and kana begrudgingly agreed. " aw, jeez! i did say that but... " 

" whoa! akane kurokawa-chan in the flesh! i watched your show, my love! you're so beautiful and cute! " ruby praised with such positive energy akane replied bashfully disagreeing with it, " oh, no. you're waaay cuter than me, ruby-san " y/n scoffed as she just looked at them and put her headphones back on her ears as they talked.

mem-cho looked at them too seeing kana, who overheard the request, tearfully wonder why things go this way, not happy with the relationship that akane and aqua have, hearing y/n's scoff then darting back at both akane and ruby, panickingly wondering who she should root for. 

soon after, they all took flight and arrived in takachiho, as y/n looked around, she looked at her phone to check the time and exited the music she was listening to, putting her headphones down. before taking quick shots of the new place by the vehicle they're riding with.

as they arrived at the village yoitomo, where the director's company resides, they were greeted and welcomed, " welcome to takachiho! i'm the video director, anemone. " y/n thought she was really pretty with a cute smile as both mem-cho and her did a high five, greeting each other. anemone looked at miyako thanking her, 

" thank you for taking the time to come to the countryside even though you're very busy! " miyako smiled, " don't mention it. " anemone explained about her company and how they specialized in computer graphics and special effects, and her reasoning for building her company in takachiho because of the surrounding nature matching to her taste. " did you know that takachiho of miyazaki prefecture is also famous for worshiping the goddess of arts? " 

" what was she called again? she appears in japanese mythology... " anemone questioned out loud, thinking of it, but before she could even recall the name aqua replied, " amenouzume no mikoto. a goddess worshiped at aratate shrine. " 

" oh, you know about it? " anemone asked, as he just gave a quick answer in approval. 

'oh...' y/n was the only thing she could think about as she looked at him, trying to read his expression as anemone explained that entertainers from tokyo come here to worship her since she supposedly brings good luck to performers.

kana is excited at the story and wants to worship her at the nearest shrine, but anemone stops her, saying they have two music videos to shoot. as they are in the middle of that, y/n is lost in her thoughts, her eyes meet his own, making her clear her throat and look away realizing that she have been looking, no, staring at him for a while.

" good luck, girls. " aqua replied as y/n walked with them, laughing a bit at kana's desperation. 

as the distance was a bit far but not that far, she looked back seeing both akane and aqua on the other side. aqua waved at her and flashed a smile and did a small wave, giving him a small little wave back before looking forward again with the other girls, biting her lower lip a bit to stop herself from smiling like an idiot as the tips of her ear were red. 

she was happy, someone wasn't.

trivia time ! y/n kazume always doubts and questions herself if she is also being used by aquamarine hoshino because his character is made like that. but setting that thing aside, she's just too dumb to even protect her own happiness because he is her happiness.
