The Monster Inside

At the old cannery, Vi, Mylo, and Claggor slide down the run-down roof of the building and peek inside through the dirty glass

"Let's get them and get out of here." Vi coldly orders before jumping into the building. The others soon join her as they tread carefully through the factory. They stop at the crossway of the bridge when the pinkhead peeks her head out to scope out the area

Her eyes widen as she sees Vander, yet she furrows her eyebrows upon not seeing the boy on her mind. "Hey, it's Vander, come on, let's go." Mylo encourages, and Vi reluctantly agrees. They hurry over to the man who's drooling blood from his mouth

As they reach him, he slowly lifts his head to see the trio. "Vi?" He weakly says before she rushes him with a hug. She pulls back and looks back at him with a serious face

"We're breaking you out." She stands straight and looks out the door as Mylo gets to work on Vander's restraints. "After that, we can find Y/N-"

"No, you need to get out of here, right now." Vander orders, causing the trio to look at him in confusion until it hits them

"Welcome." Silco announces while slowly clapping. "You have my congratulations... but I'm afraid this will be a very short reunion." His posse soon joins him and stands at the ready with their weapons in hand

"Have you heard the rumor?" The small crowd makes way as someone comes through. "The heir to the Lanes turned out to be a topsider. One that showed his true colors and murdered the Hound of the Underground and the rest of his children." Vi confusedly looks at Silco until Y/N is brought forth and thrown to the ground

"Y/N!" Vi calls out as the boy grunts and lifts his head to see the pinkhead, making his teeth clench

"Vi, you have to go!" He winces at the bruising and open wounds covering his body. "Get out of here!"

"I'm not leaving you!" She yells before grabbing and donning Vander's gauntlets. "Claggor, find another way out of here." She orders as the gentle giant node and gets to work at finding a new route of escape

"Vi, listen to him. You have three have to get out of here. You don't know-" Vander's words are halted as Vi bangs the gauntlets against the metal door, silencing him

She looks down at the floor while she clenches a fist. "I promised Y/N I'd always be there for him..." She takes a deep breath and lifts her head to look forward. "And I'm not gonna let him down." She walks toward the group when Y/N shakes his head

"No... no, Vi! Don't! Get out of here!" A large man covered in tattoos picks up Y/N and tosses him near Silco. He then tightens his grip on his machete before meeting Vi halfway on the bridge

The pinkhead puts up a guard as the man glances back at Silco who gives him the signal to dispose of the girl. He nods and turns his attention back to Vi. He lets out a battle cry while lunging his weapon at the girl

Vi's eyes narrow in on the attack as she blocks and counters it with a strong uppercut to his jaw. The strike makes the man fly backward and land harshly on the floor. Silco and everyone else's eyes widen in shock, Y/N even growing a proud smirk

Vi lets out a huff of air while putting up her guard once more. She looks back at Silco with hate-filled eyes, making the scarred man's eye twitch

Another lackey charges at Vi and swings her weapon, but is taken care of by a haymaker to the face. She then blocks and throws a punch at another attacker before being hit in the abdomen by a new goon. She quickly retaliates by precisely hitting them on the cheek with a cross, knocking them out

Y/N chuckles at the performance and grows a confident grin. "That's my girl..." However, reality seeps back into the boy's mind when Silco grabs him by the hair and holds a syringe to his face
