Break-In

In the City of Progress, Y/N and Vi leap off the rooftops as they head toward the destination given by Ekko

"Step it up or we won't make it back in time!" Y/N yells before touching a roof with the heels of his shoes and rolling. He springs back up and continues running as Vi is on his tail

"Oh, like you weren't the one going slow earlier..." She grumbles as she leaps across another rooftop while Y/N looks a bit ahead

"Plan is like always, get in, grab as many valuables, and bolt." He jumps one more roof and stops his movement as he sticks the landing. He slowly rises to his feet and stares down at his feet while Vi lands next to him. "This is going to be our biggest payout." He clenches his fists and furrows his eyebrows as he proceeds to walk toward the ledge. "Let's show Vander we have what it takes"

Vi follows Y/N's lead as he drops down the balcony and attempts to open the door in front of him. "Locked?" A question that receives a nod and smirk from the boy

"Care to do the honors?" He exaggeratively motions to the door as if he's a butler, causing Vi to roll her eyes with a smirk. She then rushes to the doors and breaks them open with a strong front kick

"Great, now this is where the fun begins." Y/N expresses with a grin as he opens his brown bag. He and Vi rush into the apartment and begin to fill the sack full of trinkets and valuables as two children spy on them with their makeshift telescope

"What are they doing now?" Powder anxiously asks, scooting closer to Ekko as they both lie down

"They're just ransacking the place. I think we should go in before anyone notices." Ekko closes and returns the scope to Powder before they rise to their feet and take deep breaths

"Okay, we're really doing this... Oh, gosh, we're really doing this!" Powder exclaims with a smile while throwing her arms down in excitement, earning a laugh from the white-haired boy

"Hell yeah, we are! Let's show 'em!" Ekko spouts while raising his arm forward, prompting Powder to connect hers with his, making an, "X"

As the two grin and continue to revel in their new adventure, Y/N and Vi continue to fill the sack with items. "I'll keep looking for stuff here, go check the other rooms." Vi orders, which Y/N complies with, and goes to other parts of the apartment, grabbing trinkets and eventually stumbling into a section where sandwiches are placed on a desk

"What kind of asshat leaves two perfectly good sandwiches lying around?" Y/N scoffs and picks up the pair of food when he notices a large crate behind some blueprints. "Hmm..." He sets a sandwich down while putting the other in his mouth, removing the blueprints and pulling forward the chest

He slides it to himself and explores its backside with his fingers until he feels a button. "Got ya!" He whispers to himself as he pushes the switch, causing the box to open on its own and display blue crystal-like balls. He squints his eyes and picks one of them up while his other hand assists the sandwich in his mouth to go deeper

He inspects the crystal and brings it closer to his eyes. "The hell are these things?" The glow of the ball reflects off his eye and makes his pupils dilate a bit. He grabs some more and looks at them between his fingers; however, the admiring of the items comes to an end as his ears perk up. He quickly turns and throws a concealed dagger from his hip across the room, narrowly missing the head of a blue-haired girl

"WOAH!" Powder yells as she stares at the blade that landed next to her head. Y/N sees this and shakes a bit in frustration before putting the crystals in his pocket

"Powder, what the hell are you doing here!?!" He says in a quiet and rough tone, making the girl look away in embarrassment

"Here? What? Pfft! The real question is..." She shifts her sights back to the boy and points her index finger right at him. "Why are you here? I thought you were doing a surprise for Vander?" She snaps back, making Y/N only tremble even more
