There was a bustle in the restaurant; it was packed, like any other day in Los Angeles. But Iris didn't want to be the type of girlfriend who refused to go out just because she felt uncomfortable with people seeing her. So she had agreed to meet Benjamin's family, which included his mom, dad, and older brother.

"So, darling, where are you from exactly? Our Benny told us you weren't from America, but never said where," his mother, Rosemary, asked in a warm, motherly tone, smiling at Iris.

"Oh, I'm from France more specifically Paris. My parents raised us there, even though my father is from Greece," Iris said, gently setting her champagne glass down on the table as she returned Rosemary's smile.

"Oh wow, it must be nice living abroad," Benjamin's father, George, said, taking a sip of his white wine as he looked at her.

"Yes, it's absolutely gorgeous," Iris replied with a soft smile, her mind drifting back to her childhood home and all the memories tied to it.

"Benjamin, you sure found yourself a beautiful woman," his brother, James, said with a slight snicker, glancing at Benjamin over his wine glass.

"I know. She's the one for me," Benjamin said, smiling as he looked over at Iris, who was seated beside him.

Iris glanced back at him, grinning as she added, "And he's the one for me..."

"Aren't you two so in love," Rosemary gushed, looking between them. "It reminds me so much of how your father and I were when we were younger."

Iris simply smiled, a faint blush tinting her cheeks. She wasn't one to show much affection in front of others-especially not his parents-but she wanted to make a good first impression.
