Comet raced through the trees. She didn't know why she was flying so fast. It was instinct, at this point. She eventually came back to her old home; the rainforest. Her safe place, before she became a horrible dragon.

But was she a horrible dragon, or was the government just corrupt?

There's no way it could be the latter.

It hurt, but Comet would have to deal with being a horrible dragon.

She could do one thing to redeem herself.

Write an apology letter.

She found her old home. It still had the broken plate on the floor, and traces of blood everywhere. It looked ransacked; makes sense, last time she was here, she had fought SkyWing guards with the others.

She couldn't even believe herself. She fought the authority? What kind of a dragon was she?

She shook her head. Might as well clean up while I'm here, she thought. She picked up the shards of the broken plate, careful not to stab herself. She wiped the floorboards of any blood, and neatly put back all of the pillows. She even cleaned up her cooking area, since she forgot to do that last time.

She smiled at her now clean hut. It's like nothing ever happened, she thought.

But she knew that was a lie.

Now there was only one thing left.

Cinder's armor.

Comet looked at the armor and went up to it. She held the pieces individually in her talons, examining it. She then hugged the armor close.

I'm so sorry, Cinder. I wish I could've saved you.

And I wish I could've told you how I felt.

Comet took the armor and placed it inside of a chest. No one would know she kept it. No one but herself.

She sighed and walked over to her desk. There, she wrote individual letters, each addressed to one of the members of her group.

Then she wrote one for herself.

It read:

Dear Comet,

I'm so sorry for betraying you. I turned you into a bad dragon, all because I wanted to help others. Little did I know you would end up being a convict and losing your only family.

I'm also sorry I never mustered the courage to tell Cinder how I felt. I know you wanted to tell her so bad, but I held you back from that. And now she's dead.

I'm sorry.

With love,

Yourself

Comet wiped a tear as she rolled up the scroll and put it in the chest as well. That's where she put all of the letters.

Comet placed her head onto the top of the chest and cried. She sat in front of the chest, crying.

"I'm so sorry, you guys. I wish I could've saved you."

"Comet?" a familiar voice said.

Comet looked up, her eyes lighting up. "Sweet apples! You're alive!"
