Jacques, Comet, and Eagle flew. Angel was resting on Comet's back. After all, it was a long flight.
Jacques tried not to think about what could go wrong. They were going to face an animus.
Not just any animus. StormCloud was the one who made the virus.
Memories of when IR first came to be flooded Jacques' mind.
He had to focus.
They had Eagle. Jacques wasn't too confident of their abilities, but he knew how powerful animus dragons were.
And they had Comet. He knew how much she cared for them.
He knew she would die to protect him and Angel.
And they had Jacques himself.
He would do anything to get the answer to stopping this madness.
Anything.
Finally, they reached the outskirts of the Kingdom of the Sea. Jacques knew this because of how much more sea there was compared to land.
He saw Eagle dipping, and he copied. They all landed on a sandy island, the grains crinkling underneath their talons.
Jacques looked around. There seemed to be no sign of life anywhere.
"It says he's on this island," Eagle announced.
Jacques looked over to Eagle, walking towards them. "Do you have the map?"
Eagle nodded, revealing the scroll they held in their hand. It had a detailed drawing of the island they were currently on. It pinpointed Eagle's location with a brown dot.
There was another dot not too far from Eagle's. A dark blue dot.
Jacques kept a snarl in his throat. StormCloud.
Jacques grabbed the map, and a black dot replaced Eagle's. That must've been him.
He followed the map, watching as he walked, and the dot followed.
Jacques looked up as he saw the dots became close. He looked around. No sign of anyone, anywhere.
Suddenly, he felt a dagger stab him in the neck. He yelped in pain, twisting around to find the dragon who stabbed him.
Suddenly, an all too familiar SeaWing faded into place. He had a dark blue base. His wings, limbs, and webs were all a dark turquoise. His eyes were almost black, with a white pupil.
Jacques snarled. "StormCloud."
The SeaWing laughed. "We meet again."
Suddenly, Comet came running at the SeaWing, her once vibrant wings and spots now a deep red. She bared her fangs, lunging at StormCloud, and tackling him, all in one swift motion.
StormCloud yelped, trying to squirm out of her grip.
Comet erupted in a low growl. "Wanna stay alive? Then you're gonna listen to me."
StormCloud laughed. "What's some SkyWing gonna do to me? Do you know who I am?"
Jacques snarled, trying to keep consciousness as blood dripped from his wound. "We have an animus of our own!"
