Jeongguk's finals were finally over, and as he promised Taehyung, he dedicated all his time to studying during the exam period. Unfortunately, this meant he couldn't visit Taehyung for the past one and a half week. Although they stayed connected through calls every evening, Jeongguk longed for the physical closeness-hugging, kissing, and cuddling-that he missed dearly.
As Jeongguk walked to the parking lot of the college with Jimin, he couldn't hide his excitement. "Finally!" he smiles.
Jimin laughs, "You're so happy exams are over. Now you can be all lovey-dovey with Taehyungie."
"Yeah, I really miss him. I haven't seen him in person for about 10 days now" Jeongguk admits.
"I get it. I haven't seen him either," Jimin pouts.
"Why don't you come with me to visit him?" Jeongguk suggests.
"I'll visit him tomorrow morning. I'll stick with him the whole day," Jimin laughs. "But for now, you have your time with your boyfriend because tomorrow you won't get him all to yourself."
Jeongguk chuckles at Jimin's playful words. "Thanks for the warning," he says.
They reach their cars, and after a quick goodbye, Jeongguk hops into his car, his excitement bubbling up as he drives towards Taehyung's place. The thought of seeing his boyfriend after such a long time fills him with joy and anticipation.
When Jeongguk arrives, he practically runs to the door, knocking eagerly. He couldn't wait to finally be in Taehyung's arms, to feel his warmth and hear his laughter up close. It had been too long, and he was determined to make every moment count.
As always, Soyeon opened the door for Jeongguk, though her usual small, comforting smile was absent. She tried to lift her lips into a smile, but it was clear something was off and Jeongguk didn't notice it in his excitement.
"How did your exams go dear?" She asks, letting Jeongguk in.
"They went well..." Jeongguk says with a smile.
"I am glad. Taehyung is in his room... he is waiting for you" Soyeon says.
"Yeah" Jeongguk says, excited in his steps as he walks upstairs to Taehyung's room. Without knocking this time, he opens the door, to see Taehyung standing near his window, looking out.
"Taebear" Taehyung hears a soft voice calling for him and he immediately wipes his tears before turning to look at Jeongguk.
"Kookie" he whispers weakly and walks to the other.
As Taehyung approaches Jeongguk, his heart feels heavy with the decision he knew he had to make. The joy in Jeongguk's eyes only made it harder, but Taehyung steeled himself, knowing it was for the best.
"Taebear, I missed you so much" Jeongguk says, reaching out to pull Taehyung into a hug.
But Taehyung steps back slightly, avoiding Jeongguk's embrace. "Kookie, we need to talk" he says quietly, his voice trembling.
