Juniper felt conflicted once more as she looked into Caroline's memories at their confrontation yesterday. When touching her cheek she saw what Katherine had done to her and her friends; she tormented them, tried to murder them. A group of teenagers. . . children.
She saw how Katherine had planned to use Caroline for her own advantage by manipulating her, threatening those she loved. And the blonde was terrified of her, Juno felt it so strongly it was almost as if it was she who was terrified of the vampire.
The witch felt horrible for believing Katherine and her lies, for partaking in hurting these teenagers any more. She was acting like the monster her family believed she was, using her magic for worse. Despite her promising herself she would never stoop so low.
Juniper wanted to prove them wrong.
Katherine had lied to her, told her that these people deserved it. The witch wondered if the brunette had lied about other things as well, if she really did wake Juno out of good will or if she had her selfish reasons for that as well. The witch was going to find out.
Which is why Juniper was planning to leave.
''Where are you going?'' Katherine stood behind her as Juno opened the front door. The witch closed her eyes briefly before turning around to face the woman who stopped her ''Out for a breath of fresh air, I'm in dire need of one after staying inside for so long.''
Katherine narrowed her eyes at the witch in front of her ''I thought I told you it was dangerous. . . do you not believe me?''
''We went outside yesterday and it went perfectly fine.'' If you don't count those times that Juno had to stop and gawk at something and Katherine had to physically pull her away. . . or the time she almost got ran over by a car, it went perfectly fine like she said.
''You basically freaked out as soon as we stepped a foot inside the Mystic Grill yesterday'' Katherine crossed her arms and raised her brow, not trusting the witch to go outside on her own and live to tell the story.
The Mystic Grill is a restaurant, café and bar in Mystic Falls. Apparantly it is a popular hangout for teenagers and young adults in town. Juno just thought it was a loud and crowded space with terrible music. Completely unnecessary if you asked her.
Juniper stood straighter ''I did not. . .'' Yes, because that sounded real convincing. ''I'll be fine—and I'll come back, don't be so distrustful. Like I said, I just need some fresh air.''
Katherine looked at her for a second longer. . . but eventually she just rolled her eyes, turned around and walked away ''Whatever just don't go too far. Because you still owe me, remember? And do you still know how to use your phone to contact me if anything goes wrong?''
Right, Katherine had gotten Juniper a phoneand hastily explained to her how it worked, adding her number to the contacts so the witch could call her if anything was wrong.
