Sometimes when you're stressed, you need to isolate yourself and just sit in silence for a while to calm down.
And that's exactly what Juniper was doing right now as she sat in the large garden behind the Salvatore house, seated on a wooden bench and still in her uncomfortable red dress with the moon and stars as her only light source. The witch was not happy with the events that just occurred at what was supposed to be a harmless dinner.
Now, of course she wasn't dense. She knew that Damon had other ideas and could see right through his feeble lies. . . but he promised her and Alaric that he wouldn't go as far as killing Elijah. He lied to them. And judging by the dangerous glare that Alaric had shown Damon, he felt the exact same as her; betrayed.
She knew that Elijah was planning on going through with Elena being sacrificed, but he was their only chance at killing Klaus and perhaps she could've found a way to save Elena's life or to convince Elijah to do otherwise. Damon's plan was foolish and dangerous, especially after the Original had threatened to kill everyone attending the dinner if he had any malicious intents and especially after he chose not to tell anyone of his plan, choosing to do it all on his own until Alaric had to step in. Which ultimately saved the vampire's life.
After Ric had basically ordered the Salvatore to hide Elijah's now daggered body, the dinner party ended—giving Jenna the excuse of Elijah having an unexpected emergency and needing to leave immediately.
So everyone had left and whilst Damon and Alaric were carrying Elijah's body to the basement, Juno went outside. She hadn't spoken a word after Elijah's daggering, only thanking Jenna for the company and food.
The witch desperately needed to take a breather and have a moment to think. She felt completely overwhelmed with everything that had happened in the past hours; the vision she had violently gotten, Elijah being daggered and Kol's confusing happiness that he expressed at his older brother's death.
The vision confused her, she didn't understand why her own mind was betraying her, showing her things that wouldn't happen and in such awful ways. With loud whispers haunting her and migraines roaming around in her head. No one had ever taught her how to control her seeing abilities and no one had explained to her that it could hurt this much.
It embarrassed her that she appeared so weak in front of Kol, a man she barely knew a week. She didnt want him to find out that she was a seer in such a revealing way.
Speaking of the Original; he was still inside, patiently waiting for the other shoe to drop on the eldest Salvatore who was lazily sitting in the living room with a glass of bourbon in his hand.
He briefly wavered when he saw Juniper slipping outside once everyone had left, but his desire to watch the chaos that was about to unfold was larger than his curiosity for the witch's whereabouts.
After about five excruciating minutes of waiting, the Salvatore was getting a call. As soon as he picked up, Stefan hastily exclaimed that the dagger was supposed to stay in place for an Original to stay dead. Sadly for them, Alaric had pulled the dagger out only seconds after he stabbed Elijah with it.
