Y/Ns POV:

" So how did your game go last night?" Jane asked.

" It was alright. We won but I didn't get too many points " I answered looking up from my tray.

" Are you gonna eat that?" Nia asked pointing her fork at my pasta.

" knock yourself out. " I replied passing my tray to her.

" What do you mean too many points?" Jane asks.

I shrug

" Y/n you need to give yourself a break man." Jane says breaking through my mind.

" Yea...*munching*  I mean you're one of the best athletes in this school" Nia says stuffing her mouth with my pasta.

" Yea, in the school... not to my parents." I say crossing my hands.

They shake their heads.

" how many times have you ever given yourself the time to just....idk... relax?" She asks

" Jane I don't have time to "relax" I have student gov And practice almost everyday. " I add.

" Plus hockey season is coming up. I need more conditioning." I say before getting cut off.

Another group of friends sits to the table beside us.

" Hockey season is coming up you guys. We all need to try out." A girl in a red jersey says.

Lynn loud. Probably y/ns only competition this year.

Loud and y/l/n knew each other not just because they played in the same region.

But because they were always going against each-other or compared due to their excellence in sports and their stubbornness.

just making them both resent each other without really even speaking a word to one another.

" I heard- *whispers* is trying out" the red headed girl next to her whispers.

Suddenly Lynn's gaze was on me now.

" A little competition wouldn't hurt" she says slightly grinning.

I notice her looking, As she looks back at her friends.

" Do you guys wanna try out for hockey?" I ask trying to change the subject.

" Not too sure. I have to get my grades up before next quarter so no distractions from now on" Jane says sighing.

" Cmon...Nia?" I look at Nia as shes absolutely tearing up her fruit cup.

"Hm? Oh...sorry y/n" she says lowering her fruit cup.

"Really guys? We always try out together. " I say disappointed.

" It's just that my mom doesn't like it when I'm out for too long." Nia says.

" Yeah same, its not that we don't want to. we do, but we also have lives y/n" Jane adds

Is she saying I don't have a life?

" What ever" I scoff.

" I better get to math. " I say gettin my stuff.

" we'll walk you-"

"No, im fine." I say walking off.

LYNNS POV:

"Someone's mad." Margo says chuckling.

We notice y/n walking off. Wonder what they said to set her off.

" Lynn didn't the two of you make varsity basketball this year?" Zia asks.
