Results

It was the morning before tryouts and the girls gathered anxiously in the locker room, waiting for the coach to announce the results.

The tension building up, each player silently praying for their names to be called.

Finally the coach Stanley entered face stern and expression unreadable.

" Alright listen up, " she began. "I want to thank you all for hard work and dedication during tryouts. It was a tough decision, but I'm proud to announce the roster for this season."

He proceeded to read off the list each announcement met with a mix of cheers and sighs of relief. As the list drew close to an end y/n and lynn felt their hearts pounding through their chests.  

As confident lynn was on making the team she knew she had to fight to be team captain this time. (Which were normally announced last)

"And finally," Coach Stanley said, pausing for a dramatic effect.

"Congrats to y/n and lynn for landing co-captains!" She finally announced. The room filling with shock and murmurs.

" WHAT?" The both of them stand up in unison.

"  Coach will all due respect but there was never a co-captain situation before though." Lynn says with a shocked expression.

"I agree We're both capable of being captain but this arrangement probably isn't the best idea." Y/n stammered.

The coach slightly frowning but still keeping her decision firm.

"I understand the reservations but I believe the two of you complement each-others strength and can provide the team with different perspectives." She advices.

Lynn crosses her arms.

"But coach-" lynn gets interrupted.

"End of story, you two just need to settle with it" Coach says leaving.

"Great." Lynn turns to y/n her tone still tinged with annoyance.

Y/n sighs in disappointment with a stern face.

The two obviously upset by this decided to back down following the rest of the team outside leaving to class.

LYNNS POV:

" It's not fair, Coach Stanley knows me ive been playing for her for years now!" I say angrily slamming my tray down on the table.

" I have a feeling it's because of that lacy girl that came in the other day." Zia says.

" Im pretty sure thats Samantha's sister." Margo adds.

"So?" I ask.

" I mean we did see y/n and sam talking after try outs did we not?" Margo adds.

"Thats suspicious" Zia adds as I piece together.

" hmm She probably said something to her to be captain" I jump to conclusions.

" Probably paid her" Zia adds laughing as we exchange looks.

" what? I heard Her family's like rich-rich her dad does like car commercials in japan or something." She adds.

" I guess we'll never know" margo shrugs.

Y/NS POV:

It was lunch and I didn't notice Jane or nia at our usual table.

I take out my phone and decide to call the group chat.

No answer.

Thats weird I had them for homeroom? I call again. No answer. I sigh what the hell is up with those two.
