The rink was buzzing with activity as the team went through their drills.

Y/N stood at the sidelines, clipboard in hand, watching the players skate with less energy than usual. The exhaustion was apparent.

"Come on, guys! Focus!" Y/N called out, frustration evident in their voice. The players' movements were sluggish, their passes inaccurate. It was clear they needed a break.

"Alright, everyone, take five!" Y/N shouted, and the team skated off to the benches, breathing heavily and searching for water.

Y/N ran a hand through their hair, sighing deeply. The water situation had been a constant headache. The team didn't have a designated water boy, and it showed. Players often went without proper hydration, leading to tiredness and even minor injuries.

Lynn skated over, sweat dripping down her face despite the cold air. "This pace is killing us," she panted, taking a swig from her nearly empty water bottle.

"Tell me about it," Y/N muttered, looking around at the scattered players. "We really need a water boy. This can't keep happening."

Lynn nodded, glancing at the rest of the team. "It's affecting everyone. We're all dragging by the end of practice."

"I know," Y/N replied, frustration creeping into their voice. "I just can't seem to find anyone willing to take on the job."

Just then, Eddie wandered over, having finished up his own workout at the gym adjacent to the rink.

He was a familiar face around the rink, always hanging around after his own training sessions.

"Hey, Y/N," Eddie called out, wiping sweat from his brow. "You look like you could use a break."

Y/N glanced at Eddie, a small smile forming. "If only I could. This practice is a disaster."

Eddie raised an eyebrow. "Need any help? I'm done for the day."

Y/N's eyes lit up with an idea. "Actually, Eddie, how would you feel about becoming our water boy? We desperately need someone to keep the team hydrated and focused."

Eddie's face broke into a grin. "A chance to hang out with you more often? Count me in."

Y/N chuckled, feeling a weight lift off their shoulders. "Great. You start tomorrow."

As Eddie walked away, Lynn approached Y/N again. "Eddie as the water boy, huh? That should be interesting."

Y/N nodded, watching Eddie's retreating figure. "He's got the enthusiasm, that's for sure. Let's hope it helps turn things around."

Lynn glanced at Y/N, a hint of curiosity in her eyes. "You think he can handle it?"

Y/N smiled. "If anyone can, it's Eddie. He's got a way of making things work."

The sun blazed down on the practice field, casting long shadows as the team went through their drills. Y/N stood at the sidelines, watching the team with a critical eye, clipboard in hand. Eddie, the team's water boy, was busy filling up bottles and handing them out to the players during breaks.

Lynn, noticing Y/N's focused expression, decided this was her moment to shine. She called the team together and demonstrated a new drill with precision, her movements sharp and deliberate. The team watched in awe, clearly impressed.

"That's how it's done," Lynn said, slightly out of breath but with a triumphant smile. She glanced over at Y/N, hoping for a reaction.

Y/N gave a small nod, scribbling something on the clipboard. "Not bad, Lynn. Let's see if the rest of the team can keep up."

As the team began to practice the new drill, Eddie approached Y/N with a water bottle. "Here you go, Y/N," he said with a grin, his eyes twinkling mischievously. "Need anything else? A personal cheerleader, maybe?"

Y/N chuckled, taking the bottle. "Thanks, Eddie. I think I'm good for now."

"Are you sure?" Eddie teased, leaning in slightly. "Because I can offer some pretty spectacular sideline commentary."

Lynn, catching the interaction, felt a twinge of irritation. She pushed herself harder, running faster, and playing smarter, hoping to draw Y/N's attention back to the rink.

During a break, Y/N walked over to Lynn, offering her a water bottle. "You're really pushing yourself today," Y/N remarked, a hint of a smile playing on their lips.

Lynn took the bottle, her fingers brushing against Y/N's briefly. "Just trying to set an example," she replied, trying to sound casual but failing to hide the pride in her voice.

As Y/N walked away, Eddie approached again, this time with a cheeky grin.

"Hey, Y/N, if you ever get tired of all this serious coaching business, I've got a great spot picked out for a picnic after practice."

Y/N laughed, shaking their head. "You never quit, do you?"

"Not when it comes to you," Eddie said with a wink.

Lynn watched the exchange, a mixture of frustration and determination rising within her.

She couldn't believe how easily Eddie seemed to capture Y/N's attention with his playful banter.
