Everly rushed down the large curving stairs, watching the shoes on her feet, in case she might accidentally trip. And go tumbling down. The house her father owned was larger than most.
Two story's and painted an off white color, with decorative pillars. The inside was a sight for sore eyes. Bright and welcoming.
"Thank goodness, you're a wake." Everly raced in to the kitchen where her father had been peacefully making breakfast, he looked up from the stove top to see his daughter holding two different colors ribbons in her hand. "Which one, father? White or pink?" She held them up to her curly blonde hair, tied up in a half up- half down style.
"White," He nonetheless picked.
"Brilliant," Everly said before tying the ribbon in to a bow in her, a few hair falling down to the side of her face at the movement.
From the corner of her eye she could see her father smile at her, "Yes?"
He shook his head as his smile grew wider, "You sound like your mother with her thick accent."
The blondes smile fluttered, lightly, talking about her mother was a difficult topic for the young girl. Ever since the incident, Everly has had a hard time properly expressing her emotions towards her mother. Of course, she loved the women. Just not like before.
"Yeah..." Her voice drifted, thinking about her life back in England. And reality set in once Everly realized she was going to be late if she didn't leave in the ten minutes, "Oh my, time goes by fast, doesn't it? I must hurry off to school- I wouldn't want to be late on my first day." She grabbed a slice of bread and took a bite before running out of the house.
"Don't fret, Eve! You'll make a good impression!"
Everly remember the path to school like the back of her hand. She kept on reciting it along her walk. But her train of thoughts were interrupted by a certain red headed girl.
"Isn't it an exceptionally great morning!" The red head loudly cheered, swinging her arms as she walked towards Everly, not noticing the blonde. "The trees sing while birds harmonize."
The red heads eyes gaze over the forest, then froze upon seeing the blonde stare at her. She furrowed her brows before speaking, "Who are you?" She said with a hint of curiosity and sternness.
"Everly Wilson," The blonde held out a hand, "Are you on your way to school as well?"
"What a lovely name," The red head said in awe. "I'm Anne- With an E!" Anne blurted out the last part, causing Everly to take a step back.
"Nice to meet you...Anne" She paused, "with an E."
"Wow, when you say my name it sounds a lot more sophisticated! Do you think you can teach me how to talk like that? I've always wanted to learn multiple accents- Marilla says it's a waste of time but if you teach me then-"
