"No, you're doing it all wrong, Mr. Blythe." Everly reached over to take the bag of salt out of the man's hands, "You need sugar. Not salt."

"Oh! No wonder it tasted bitter. I thought you were adding in too much salt," Mr. Blythe stated as he grabbed a clean bowl out of a cabinet.

Everly bit the inside of her check. He really is a lost cause she thought to herself.

"It's alright. We still have time left to make another batch of muffins." She placed the bag of salt down, "This time, try adding sugar." She retorted, making Mr. Blythe laugh.

Everly glared at the man, slowly but surely losing her patience.

"You remind me of Gilbert." Mr. Blythe began to explain, "He has a bad temper when explaining things to me. However, he's good boy. Always such a gentleman...especially with the ladies." He winked.

Everly almost ran out of the house and found the nearest bridge to throw herself off of, from how much embarrassment she felt.

Her pale cheeks turnt red at his comment but shook it off and changed the subject, "If you don't stop yapping, we won't have any muffins to hand out. Now, focus." She snapped a finger in his face and the man only just laughed in response.

Everly sent a glare in his direction and he stopped laughing at once before saying, "Focus, miss Wilson. We don't have time for your childish behavior."

Anne and Ruby just arrived with their goodies and it was finally time for the three girls to go and hand them out.

"Ok. I think I have everything," Everly said to Mr. Blythe as she glanced over her basket of plain muffins and blueberry ones hidden at the bottom.

"You're forgetting something."

Everly's head shot up, "I am?" She questioned and then began second guess everything.

Overthinking was her specialty.

Mr. Blythe held out a brown paper bag with a ribbon wrapped around it, one of Everlys ribbons.

"Right! Forgive me, I seem to be losing myself due to exhaustion." She grabbed the bag out of his hand and carefully placed it in her basket, "I'll tell Gilbert you said hi."

"Thank you." The man said as he opened the front door for her, "Be careful."

Everly smiled and opened her mouth to speak but was caught off short by Anne and Ruby.

"Everly! Do you have them!" Shouted Anne as she walked up to the blonde.

She nodded her head and the three girl took off to Everly's home that was under major renovations.
