"Do you even know what you're doing?" Summer sneered as her mother's new boyfriend addressed her wound, putting on a new bandage as she did so. It had been a few days since the fight in the food court, and upon coming home and Daniel LaRusso explaining to Dahlia O'Connor what had happened, Summer's mother had freaked out and ordered her daughter to a minimum of a weeks bed rest.

"He's trained." Her mother sassed from the doorway of the living room, rolling her eyes at her daughters theatrics before disappearing off into the kitchen.

"I did go to school for this, you know." Hayden told the girl, squinting his eyes to ensure she hadn't infected her wound in her sleep.

"I don't give a shit about what you did." Summer snapped.

The man simply mocked her in response, seemingly happy with himself when he had efficiently shut her up.

"How did this happen again?"

"I already told you, a karate dojo feud broke out in the food court in the mall." Summer rolled her eyes for the umpteenth time that day. "Right." Hayden dragged out, "and on the way here last night, I met a magical man who gave me three wishes."

Summer glared at the man before kicking him in the chin. Hayden winced at the contact, tearing his hands away from the teenage girl's face. "Okay, what is your problem?"

"My problem is that you're trying to be my dad."

"I don't want to be your dad, devil child. I just want to date your mom!" The man explained, throwing his hands around as he did so.

"Well, you're not good enough for her." Summer shot back, crossing her arms over her chest as she leaned back in her seat. "I'm well aware." Hayden grinned teasingly.

"Glad we agree on something." Summer retorted, sticking her tongue out at the man for extra measure, not expecting him to return the gesture.

"Aren't you the ugliest man baby I've ever seen?"

"Summer Dior O'Connor!" Dahlia yelled as she stormed back into the room, her eyes burning with rage as she glared at her only child.

"He started it!" Summer exclaimed, throwing her hands towards Hayden, who was smirking as he watched the entitled child get in trouble for her actions.

"Don't care, didn't ask. Go to your room!" Dahlia finalised. She didn't get angry at her daughter, but it was true that she was the only person who could ever win a fight with the teenage girl.

Summer groaned, standing up abruptly before turning to the firefighter once more. "I hope you get stuck in a burning building." She whispered, low enough for only him to hear. The man gasped, grabbing his chest in fake horror before dropping it into a teasing wave as he watched the girl stomp upstairs.

Summer hadn't left her room since the altercation between her and her mother's boyfriend earlier that day. She hadn't even had dinner upon hearing Hayden had made his infamous Thai Green Curry, refusing to eat anything the man had ever made since her mother brought him into her life.

A knock sounded at the door, the girl stifling a groan as she sat upright in her bed.

"I told you, mom! The only way I'm eating his food is if you hold me down and force me to!"

The door creaked open slowly, revealing a very confused Miguel Diaz.

Summer almost jumped at the sight, not having seen any of her friends for a few days. The boy hesitated for a few moments before stepping inside when he was sure he wasn't going to be hit with any Summer O'Connor collateral damage.

"Why are you covered in sweat?" Summer grimaced.

"Karate training in the woods." Miguel explained vaguely before flopping backwards onto the girl's perfectly made bed. Summer gasped as soon as the boy's body made contact with her fresh seats, resisting the urge to gag as he shoved him off hastily.

He landed on the floor with a thud, followed by a series of groans and profanities.

"Why'd you do that?"

"Because you're disgusting."

Miguel rolled his eyes as he climbed to his feet, opting to just sit on her desk chair in hopes of not being shoved to the floor once more.

"How's the head?" Miguel asked, twiddling with his fingers nervously. He knew the cause behind his friend's injury, and he wasn't sure if she wanted to discuss her Cobra Kai caused injury with him, a member of Cobra Kai.

"It's definitely been prettier."

The two laughed, before an uncomfortable silence overtook the room. Summer could tell Miguel had something he needed to say.

"I'm sorry about Hawk. I know he feels bad about it."

"Don't speak of him around me, bird boy is officially dead to me." Summer stopped the boy as she held her hand up in the air, closing her eyes as if to rid herself of the thought of the boy she had once considered a friend.

"I don't know what's up with him, he's been such a," Miguel trailed off, trying to find the right words to describe his red haired friend.

"A pathetic, ugly loser?" Summer spoke for him, causing the Diaz boy to laugh with a nod of his head.

"When do you get off bed rest?" Miguel asked, effectively changing the subject to something lighter.

"In a few days." Summer shrugged, leaning back onto her pile of pillows at the head of her bed.

"Wanna hang out? Just us two, like the old days?"

Summer snorted a laugh, "we never hung out."

"Yes, we did. You're just too up yourself to admit it!" Miguel defended himself, multiple times of when they hung out in secret as to not embarrass the popular girl coming to mind. Summer gasped at his statement, grabbing one of the pillows behind her before throwing it as hard as she could at the Diaz boy.

"If you were this pretty, you'd be up yourself too!"
