The sound of our steps resonated through the hallway. Professor Clarke was in front of me as we walked.

I made sure to keep a great distance between us as we walked. The teasing memory of what happened kept nagging me.

"I've been meaning to ask you if you were okay back there in class. I saw you left before class ended." He speaks up.

"Oh, yes I just got scratched that's all."

He hummed in response.

As we made our way downstairs, we passed the kitchen walking down an unknown part of the house.

After a couple more turns we finally made it to our destination.

Professor Clarke knocked before he entered the room, and I fell behind.

My mouth fell as I took in the room. The walls were scattered with shelves each holding an array of books.

The room was so big it felt like a library. A few paintings were placed on walls that didn't hold any books.

A small fire pit was set across from me. And a few couches littered around the room.

The room was so cozy. It felt like I could live here forever,

"I have your work here." Professor Ford speaks up.

I walk to him, seeing the stack of work lying on his desk.

"Just do what you always do, nothing new." he hands me the stack of work.

I nod my head grabbing the papers.

"If you'd like Ms. Jones you can take my desk for today and I'll work on the couch." Professor Knight says getting up from his desk.

I shake my head, "I don't mind working on the couch. Please stay there." I give him a reassuring smile.

"You sure?"

"Positive."

I walked over to the table that was next to the fireplace. The spot seemed so cozy so I was glad.

I place the stack of assignments on the desk and take a seat on the sofa.

...

I bite the inside of my check in concentration. I had about a few papers left to grade. Due to the amount of times I've graded the assignments I finally got the hang of it and started to finish a lot faster.

I looked up from my desk taking a look around.

Professor Clarke who was the closest to me seemed to be scrolling through his computer, occasionally pressing his fingertips against the keyboard.

Professor Ford was also on his computer while simultaneously writing things down as well. And Professor Knight was focused solely on the work on his desk.

I don't understand how they could do this every day. From teaching to working while in class, and then coming home and working.

Seems somewhat suffocating.

But it's not like they are doing it for free, so...

"Something wrong?" Professor Clarke asks. I snap my head to meet his gaze. Seems I got caught looking.

The question causes all three professors to glance my way.

"Was this plan for all three of you?"

"What do you mean?" Professor Ford asks. His brows set in a deep frown.

"T-to be Professors, was that the goal along?"

Professor Clarke and Professor Knight chuckle, while Professor Ford's expression changes to a small smile.
