I gulp, looking into his eyes, which were full of amusement.
Right then, a droplet of water splashes onto my cheek causing me to look up.
The once sunny weather that shined against my skin was overthrown by the dark grey clouds.
The weather really is unpredictable.
"I think it's about to rain," I speak up.
Professor Knight shakes his head, "I'm not going to fall for that one, you might have to try a little harder to change the subject."
I lowered my gaze back down at him. He must think I'm lying.
"I'm not lying it's about to rain-"
Before I could fully repeat myself an abrupt drop of rain began to hit our skin, I shivered from the harsh unexpected cold rainfall.
He snapped his head upwards.
"You've got to be kidding me," he mumbles.
How unfortunate, it's almost as if someone was trying to warn you.
In an instant, he grabbed my hand and dragged me alongside him. I gasped as we both started running.
I turned around, watching as the sight of the rain falling into the lake grew smaller with each step we took further away.
In every stage of weather, it still managed to look so beautiful.
I turned my head away as the strong hand pulled me closer.
As we ran I struggled to keep up with him, not only was he stronger but very athletic. And it has been a while since I've done any form of exercise.
But that wasn't the only problem. The dirt path had started to grow muddy due to the heavy rain, making the ground slippery and not very sturdy.
"Be careful with the ground, you might slip if you are not too careful," I warn Professor Knight. My words coming out in pants due to my unfit form.
"I've grown up here Ms. Jones, I believe it's you who should be really careful-"
I snap my head upwards upon the sudden cut-off. Professor Knight's hand leaves mine as he slips into one of the more rocky areas.
I gasped taking a step back before he could fall onto me. I watch as the mud stains his wet dress shirt.
He sighs, lifting his hand up to clutch his head. The action unintentionally caused the mud on his hand to slip onto his forehead.
Before I could stop myself, a wave of laughter hit me. I clutch my stomach trying to get rid of the feeling.
"You think this is funny?" He snaps his eyes towards me, an eyebrow raised in annoyance.
I raise my hand showing a small gap between my index and thumb finger, "just a little bit." I giggle.
The feeling of the harsh rain hitting my skin had slipped into the back of my mind. All I could focus on was how funny he looked.
If I was watching from an outside perspective, I too would have been confused as to why someone would find this funny.
But for some reason, I just couldn't stop.
"You want to see what's funny." I wiped my water eyes from under my glasses before looking down at the muddy man in front of man.
He got up from his lying position, walking towards me. I looked up at his muddy hands that he suddenly raised.
My smile faltered as I took a step back.
