Katsumi Takeda stands outside of UA for her very first day of high school. Since she is arriving late, she knows that everyone will already be grouped up, and having an outsider join in is unlikely. She walks up the steps leading to the huge glass doors that are almost 3 times her size. She stops and takes everything in: being a new student finally on her way to becoming a true hero. The doors open as students walk into their homeroom class to start the day. Katsumi walks in after them, trying so hard not to stand out.

A couple of days before, she got a letter stating that she was to visit Mr. Principal's office to get her class schedule and a list of basic rules. She is to move into the dorms by the end of the week, so she has enough time to settle into a new routine. As Katsumi looks around, she feels an overwhelming sense of anxiety. Before today, Katsumi had never even stepped foot in a real school, let alone the best school for heroes.

Time is ticking away, and Katsumi needs to get a move on to the principal's office before she's late to homeroom on her first day of school. She doesn't want to make a bad first impression on her possible new friends, so she starts walking down the hall for any sign of Mr. Principal's office. A petite girl with short brown hair comes up from behind Katsumi.

"Hi! Do you need some help?" the mystery girl asks.

Katsumi turns around and at first, doesn't see anyone until she looks down.

"Oh hello there!" Katsumi says, and blushes in embarrassment for not noticing her at first. "I'm Takeda Katsumi!" she says and bows her head slightly.

"I know who you are! I'm Uraraka Ochaco! Mr. Principle has asked me to take you on a tour of the school."  she says as she reciprocates the formality of bowing her head. "If you'll follow me, I can show you to his office so you can get your paperwork."

"Okay, thanks!" Katsumi follows the nice girl until they are standing in front of Mr. Principal's office. She knocks on the door until she hears a squeaky voice say "Come in!"

Both girls open the door and walk in. Katsumi has never seen a talking animal before, but she tries to hide her surprise as she sits down in front of Nezu's desk.

"You must be Takeda Katsumi! I am Nezu, UA's principal! Thank you Uraraka for bringing her to me. You can wait outside."

"Yes, I am. It's very nice to meet you." Katsumi says while bowing. She wants to show the utmost respect towards the person who is allowing her to attend the school of her dreams.

"I hope you enjoy the privilege of staying here to hone your quirk's ability and skills. Speaking of your quirk, I see you have a very powerful one. How long has it been since you awakened your quirk?"

"I awakened it when I was 10 when a villain attacked my neighborhood. I understand I'm a late bloomer, but I will try my hardest to become strong so I don't fall behind!" Katsumi's determination makes Mr. Principle smile.

"Okay! Here are some papers discussing the rules and our policies. Please read over them carefully. We do not tolerate any rule-breaking here at UA."

"Yes sir, I understand." Katsumi can't help but feel nervous as she is given the forms. Even one mistake can cost her her spot here, and she doesn't want to do anything that might jeopardize that. She puts the papers in her bag and stands up. One of the papers she is given is her class schedule. Katsumi studies it and sees that she is in class 1-A. Mr. Principle tells Katsumi that she is excused and that she should hurry to homeroom.

Katsumi opens the door to the awaiting Uraraka.

"What homeroom are you in?" Uraraka asks.

"Looks like class 1-A. What class are you in?"

"The same! OMG, this is so cool! I can't wait to introduce you to everyone," Uraraka says excitedly. The two of them walk upstairs to the classrooms. Big "1-A" lettering is painted on an enlarged door. Katsumi thinks that 3 of her could stand on top of each other to finally reach the top. She grabs the door handle and pushes. Most of everyone is standing around talking to each other, and once the door opens, everyone's focus goes straight to Katsumi.

Usually in situations like this, Katsumi doesn't get nervous, but this is the exception. Her cheeks go red and she can feel her face getting hot. Uraraka steps in and pushes her to the front of the class. The homeroom teacher, Mr. Aizawa, greets Katsumi.

"Ah you must be the new student," he says indifferently.

"Hi," Katsumi responds in a quiet voice. She never acts like this at home so why is she acting like this right now?

"Introduce yourself quickly."

Katsumi stands next to Mr. Aizawa and bows lightly to the rest of the class. "Uhm hi, my name is Takeda Katsumi and I transferred here from previously being homeschooled. My quirk is called "Inferno Blade" so I can create all sorts of weapons made out of pure fire. I have 3 older brothers, one of which currently goes here and I hope we can all be friends!"

Mr. Aizawa asks if anyone has any questions. A boy with yellow hair with a black lightning bolt speaks up first.

"Hi I'm Kaminari Denki and I want to know why you moved here so late," he asks quite bluntly. Katsumi shifts her feet uncomfortably, but she doesn't want to lie to her new classmates.

"My dad has loads of connections and because I always wanted to be a hero, he asked if I could perform in an unofficial entrance exam." After Katsumi gets done with sharing, rumbles explode in the class. She can tell that people are upset because, to them, she didn't have to work hard to get to the same position as everyone else.  Mr. Aizawa asks for Katsumi to sit down, but no one wants her to sit with them. Uraraka calls Katsumi over.

"Takeda, you can sit behind me!" Katsumi lets out a sigh of relief and smiles gratefully at Uraraka. Katsumi knows that people won't respect her because she got in thanks to her father's connections. She silently resolves to work hard to earn her peers' respect so she can be accepted.

As Katsumi sits down, Uraraka turns around and silently says, "Don't worry about everyone else. The school doesn't accept students on connections alone. You must be strong if they gave you an entrance exam after the others. Once they see how nice you are, they'll come around." Katsumi smiles at her and looks around at her fellow classmates. She knows that she is going to have to work hard to gain everyone's approval, but Takeda Katsumi is always up for a challenge!
