As the first week comes to a close, Katsumi is now ready to start training with her classmates. Before classes start, Katsumi heads downstairs to try to find one of her friends. She spots Momo talking to a guy with red-and-white hair. It looks like they're deep in conversation, so Katsumi tries to find someone else. She walks back upstairs to find Ochaco. As she is walking past the boy dorms, she spots that same rude kid. It's not a good idea to poke the bear, but he was a jerk the last time they spoke, and she wanted to know why.
"Hey!" Katsumi yells across the hall, as the boy steps out of his dorm.
The boy ignores her and closes his door. Katsumi storms up to him.
"I'm talking to you, you jerk."
"Yeah? Well, I'm not talking to you."
"You don't even know me and you dare to call me a dumbass? Who do you think you are?"
"Someone who doesn't want to talk to you." He says simply. His demeanor is uninterested, like he doesn't want to breathe the same air as Katsumi. He pushes past Katsumi again, with Katsumi staring dumbfounded at how conceited a person could be. Just then Ochaco walks downstairs and spots Katsumi.
"Hey. Why are you standing in front of Bakugou's dorm?"
"Oh, so that's his name. You know, he is the most terrible person I've ever met." Katsumi huffs and crosses her arms.
Ochaco laughs. "That's the vibe he gives off, isn't it?"
"Who even is he anyways?" Katsumi asks.
"A jerk. But Izuku likes him, so there has to be some good in him right? He and Izuku went to the same middle school, but Bakugou always bullied him. He's a loner, but the only person he can stand is Kirishima. I wouldn't waste my breath on him."
Katsumi thinks over Ochaco's words. She knows that's it probably best to leave him alone, but she can't stand when someone pushes her around like that. One way or another, she wanted to be that second person he can stand.
"Anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to train with me today."
"Oh sure! After school?" Ochaco asks.
"I'll see you there." Katsumi smiles as the two of them walk downstairs to meet up with Momo. The three of them head to the school for morning classes.
"Hey Momo, who was the boy you were talking to earlier? The one with split hair." Momo blushes.
"That's Todoroki Shoto. We usually train together, but today he was going to train with Midoriya."
"I see. Would you like to train with us?" Katsumi asks.
"No it's okay. I asked Tsuyu and she's free."
It's the end of the day, and Katsumi can't wait to start practicing her skills. The only thing Katsumi is always is prepared. She researched Ochaco's quirks, and memorized them in her head. Since she's never went up against someone with a powerful quirk, she doesn't know how she's going to counterattack, but just practicing with someone is better than nothing. Her and Ochaco meet up at Training Field A.
"Okay! I don't want you to go easy on me just because I've never done this before." Katsumi is confident that she will try her best. Winning? She isn't to that standard yet. But succeeding? Absolutely.
"We'll start with hand-to-hand combat. As you've said before, you only practiced on your own, so I assume your sparring isn't too good." Katsumi droops her shoulders. She didn't have to out her like that, but it is true; Katsumi has never sparred with anyone before, so hopefully this training exercise will help Katsumi improve.
