Amelia Joan

The ride to my apartment was silent, mainly because I was already feeling dizzy but also drunkenly thinking of what he could possibly mean by what he said. The fück does he mean by "I deserve someone so much better" and yet, here is getting mad that I was out having fun with another man.

Make it make sense. He's doing the opposite of what he says. I have a doctorate. I'm not freaking stupid, I definitely know when a man is interested in me, and I can tell that he is! Even just a little.

I can't be upset, I know. Wala namang kami. We could just playing here, but somehow the alcohol has brought out these....emotions that I can't stop.

I tossed his cap back on his lap and turned away from him. Shït, ang lamig sa sasakyan niya pero hindi ko na lang pinahalata. Bahala siya sa buhay niya.

As I was looking at the buildings we were passing by, his gaze burned the side of my face. He was looking at me like he was offended that I gave him back his stuff.

"Amelia."

"Don't "Amelia" me." I even mocked his deep voice. "Just drop me off in the lobby and go home—-wait, how did you know where I live?"

"Your nurse twin told me." He said casually. "While I was on the way, I texted her and found out she was called in at the hospital. I told her that I wanted to pick you up and if I could have her permission to drop you home."

Hindi ako nakaimik.

"I guaranteed her that Doc Jo will be home safe." Dagdag pa niya.

Hindi ako ulit nakasagot.

When we reached my apartment building, he didn't drive to the direction where he could just drop me off in front of the building, where there is a doorman waiting. Instead, he drove towards the underground parking lot, which has an elevator that can take me to my floor.

"Marc, ano ba." I said and turned to him. Bumungad naman sa akin ang perpekto niyang side profile, grabe ang tangos ng ilong, ang lantik at ang kapal ng mga pilikmata, ang kapal at itim din ng kanyang mga kilay. His forehead smooth, those cheekbones, and his sharp jawline.

Banyagang-banyaga talaga ang hitsura niya. His jaw then tightly clenched as his big hand gripped on the steering wheel.

"Hindi na ako nagbibiro ha." Sabi ko pa.

"Neither am I." He said and put the car in park. He reached to put his cap back on my head before he swiftly moved to the passenger's seat and opened the door for me.

"Uwi ka na nga sabi e!"

He grunted before he took my shoulder bag and pulled me in his arms. I yelped and was forced to wrap my arms around his neck as he carried me in a bridal style manner again.

I wanted to fight him pero sobrang bango niya kasi! At inaantok na rin ako.

When we got into my apartment, I wiggled clumsily like a salted worm, so he was forced to put me down. I snatched my shoulder bag from him and let it drop on the floor.

"Tsupi!"

He just stood there, towering the whole space of my simple and cozy one bedroom apartment. We are currently standing here in my living room where I have my very soft couch, TV on the wall, family pictures and my diplomas hung on the wall, as well as the memorabilias I collected either from Seattle or Guam, or wherever I went.

"Okay, let me take off your heels first." Malamig niyang sabi. His blue eyes fixed on my face, as though he was stopping his gaze from drooping lower to my body.
