Damion doubted he had ever felt uneasy as he did now. He hadn't done anything because he had to be sure what he was dealing with. He had to be sure what had gone wrong. And now that he did, it didn't make him feel reassured. It made him restless, to think such a small slip had led to three centuries of his weakness.
But not anymore.
He was going to put an end to this, but first-
He froze. It felt like a prickle that ran up his neck but he knew it was much more than that.
She was here.
Slowly turning around, he was met with the pair of the finest amber eyes. She looked like the same person she was two months ago but he'd be a fool not to notice she wasn't the same person. There was something more to the Eretria in front of him.
She broke into the smile and crossed the distance between them before he realized it. Then, she reached up and gently cupped his face, surprising him. She studied his face.
"Are you getting older? Has it been that long?" She asked.
He didn't say a word, just stared into the depths of her eyes, as if searching for a ghost from his past.
She met his gaze, a hint of wariness lurking in the surface. She was guarding against him. She shouldn't.
When he said nothing, she sighed and drew her hand from his face but he caught it before it slide off his face.
Without a word, he reached up and gently cupped her face, his fingers tracing the lines of her jaw. A jolt went through him as he leaned in, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, gentle kiss.
Everything went still for a moment, the world around them a distant cry. The surprise of his sudden kiss left her breathless, but her body responded instinctively, her arms went around his shoulders.
Her fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, deepening the kiss. He felt her body mold to his, her curves fitting into his contours like a puzzle piece. The darkness was filled with the sweet scent of her skin mixed with the scent of coconut in her hair, and the thrumming of their combined heartbeats and in the faint glow of the moonlight, the world outset receded, leaving only the two of them, lost in the intensity of their embrace, heart pounding like drums in a primitive ritual.
A prickling sensation went up her spine, causing her to pull away in shock. When she stared at him, his face had turning pale was he grabbed his chest. His face twisted in pain.
"Damion?" She called and caught his fall but his weight pulled her down with him. She was alarmed at how cold he was becoming and the color draining from his face.
Staring at the unconscious man before her, she was left bewildered. What in the world was going on?

Rio didn't even want to start on the million questions going on in his head. Like how Eretria was here or what had happened to Damion. He had never collapsed, no matter how drained he was. Yet, he was staring down at the pale man in bed.
Eretria was on the other side of the bed and now or then, their eyes would meet but she'd quickly avert her gaze.
"Let's not act like your being here isn't a major concern." Rio finally said.
Eretria stared at him, biting her lower lip.
"What happened to you?" He asked.
There was a pause before Eretria spoke. "Let's say I was lost." She said, her eyes making their way to Damion's finger which was pale, like the rest of him. "In the middle of nowhere. How long was I gone?" She asked.
