Edwards P.O.V.

"Carlisle, Esme, can we talk upstairs please?" I ask, a little awkwardly.

"Sure dear," Esme answers.

We all walked upstairs to my fathers study and sat down.

"I think I might know who my soulmate is. The only problem is I don't know how to tell, for sure," I blurt out, rubbing the back of my neck with my hand.

"Well son, is there a conversation we need to have?"

"I'm not gay Carlisle!"

"I was just asking, just in case?"

Suddenly creaking could be heard by the door. I opened it to see the rest of the family standing just outside it.

"What are you all standing there for? Politely piss off! I'm not gay! I'm going hunting! No privacy in this house!" I holler, before bolting for the nearest exit.

I get up and run out of the house to hunt. I couldn't bear to look at any of their faces. I don't want to disappoint them.

All I want to do is find my mate and be happy. I thought as I ran. Suddenly a nasty smell snapped me out of my thoughts to find a wolf. In my irritation I hadn't been paying close enough attention to where I was going. I was just running as fast and far as I could and apparently I'd stumbled right into wolf territory.

"I'll get off your land," I said mentally holding up my hands to show it I meant no harm. "I'm sorry I came into wolf territory, it was an accident."

"Just make sure you don't do it again Edward," he answered, after shifting back.

Shit, it's Seth. He looks beautiful naked. No stop, look away.

"Again, I'm sorry,'' I look him in the eyes and all I see is my beautiful Seth. My beautiful mate. Shit! No! Not happening! I fell to my knees, if I could cry I would.

"I've got to go!"

I turned and ran back home and shut myself away in my room. I started playing my piano so no one would disturb me.

Kate's P.O.V.

I wonder if Edward is alright. Finding out you're mated to someone that's the same gender as you can be hard on some people.

"Bella, do you think Edward is okay?"

"I don't know. He ran in earlier. He seemed very flustered. Well as flustered as a vamp can be.''

"I think I'm gonna go talk to him. Just to see if he's alright or not, make sure he knows that we're all here for him. Even if he did try to steal my mate away."

"Okay, good luck," she said, nodding in understanding.

I slowly walked upstairs to his room, trying to get together my thoughts about what I was going to say. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. He didn't answer so I pushed the door open and waited to see if he was going to throw something at me or allow the intrusion.

"Hey, Edward? Do you want to go hunting, just me and you?" I asked cautiously.

"Sure Kate lets go," he said, with a huff and roll of his eyes.

We jumped from his window to a near by tree, slid lightly to the ground, and started running. Hopefully a meal would help clear our heads. We slowed and stalked a deer through the woods. We came upon a large buck in a small field, we took it down together and fed.

We went to the tree line and I jumped to a limb and sat down. My feet dangled below me. He jumped to the tree beside mine and sat.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked, swinging my legs back and forth.

"Sure," he answered, picking at the bark of the branch he sat on.

I knew he was probably trying to read my mind but I wouldn't let him. I kept it as blank as possible.

"Edward, Seth's your mate isn't he?" I asked, giving him a sideways glance.

"How did you know? I haven't told anyone," he said, continuing to pick at his tree.

"It's nothing to be ashamed of Edward. You need to talk to Seth, the elders, and Carlisle."

"I only just found out. Like literally just a few hours ago. When I went out I accidently went onto wolf land. I didn't mean to but Seth caught me. When he shifted back... God he's so beautiful. I want him so much. What do I do? How can I be gay? I've never felt anything like this before."

"You need to talk to him Edward."

"I will... I guess... I don't know... Right now I just need to think. I need some time to process."

I didn't know what other advice to give him. So I pushed off my branch and landed lightly on the ground.

Edwards P.O.V.

I sat in the tree for several hours thinking about everything she'd said. Then I hopped down a loped home.

"Carlisle, Esme, we need to talk."

We went back up to the study.

"I found my mate. It's Seth. I've come to terms with the fact that my mate is a man. I didn't want to but I know it's only going to hurt us both. I'm sorry for the way I reacted before and I'll apologise to everyone else, even though they're probably listening right now."

"I'm scared of what they'll think of me now, but I know that they will accept me no matter what."

"Thank you for apologising. I'm glad you have found your mate. You deserve to be happy Edward. I'll come with you to La push to sort it out if you want," Carlisle said.

"Thanks dad," I can't believe I just called him that. It made his day though. I could hear it in his thoughts.

"Can we go now?"

"Yes, let's go. I'll call Billy to let him know we're coming."
