Taehyung's car pulled up to the grand entrance of his luxurious mansion, a sprawling estate that exuded opulence and power. The moment the car stopped, uniformed bodyguards swiftly moved to escort him to the main hall. As he stepped inside, the servants lined up and bowed deeply, their heads almost touching the floor in a show of respect.

In the main hall, the decor was as grand as one would expect from the home of the Kim Empire's heir. Expensive artwork adorned the walls, and the air was filled with the faint scent of fresh flowers. Taehyung's mother, a graceful woman with a dignified presence, sat on an elegant couch. Upon seeing her son, she stood up quickly, her eyes welling with tears of joy.

"Taehyung," she said, her voice trembling with emotion as she rushed to embrace him. "My son, you're finally home."

She wrapped her arms around him, holding him tightly. For a brief moment, the facade of her stoic elegance cracked, revealing the depth of her love and longing. Taehyung, however, remained unmoved. His expression was cold and distant, his eyes reflecting none of the warmth she desperately sought.

Taehyung merely nodded, his demeanor unchanged. Inside, he felt a pang of resentment. His mother's tears did nothing to soften his heart. He remembered vividly how she had stood by, silent and compliant, when his father had sent him away. Her failure to fight for him, to voice any objection, had left a deep scar.

"Thank you for the warm welcome," Taehyung said formally. "I have some business to attend to."

"Business? But Taehyung, you just arrived. Can't you spare a moment for your family?" Her voice was pleading, desperation evident in her eyes.

He sighed, his patience wearing thin. "Mother, there are things I need to take care of. Important matters that can't wait."

"But you've been gone for so long," she insisted. "We have so much to catch up on. Please, just stay a little longer."

Taehyung's expression hardened. "Catch up? On what, exactly? On how you stood by and did nothing when Father sent me away? On how you let him tear this family apart without uttering a single word in my defense?"

She flinched, the impact of his words like a physical blow. "Taehyung, it wasn't like that. I thought it was for your own good. Your father believed—"
