BACK TO PAST
The morning sunlight streamed softly through the curtains, gently waking Y/n from her slumber. Her eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, panic seized her. This wasn't her room. The unfamiliar surroundings sent a jolt of fear through her, but as she took in the details—the plush bed, the soft lighting, and the subtle scent of fresh linen—memories of the previous night came rushing back.
Taehyung. He had saved her, brought her here after finding her terrified by the thunderstorm. She remembered the comfort of his embrace, the warmth that had soothed her fears. Her heartbeat slowed as she realized where she was. The unease slowly faded, replaced by a strange mix of gratitude and confusion.
She sat up, rubbing her eyes, and glanced around the room. The bed beside her was empty, and she wondered where Taehyung had gone. The thought of being alone in his house, in his space, made her slightly anxious, but she pushed the feeling aside. She needed to freshen up.
The bathroom was spacious and immaculate, with a large mirror and soft, fluffy towels neatly folded on the counter. Y/n washed her face, trying to rid herself of the lingering sleepiness and the remnants of last night's anxiety. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for whatever lay ahead.
As she made her way downstairs, a delicious aroma filled the air. The scent of chocolate and pancakes wafted through the hallway, instantly making her stomach rumble. She hesitated for a moment, but the lure of breakfast was too strong. Slowly, she followed the smell to the kitchen.
Taehyung stood by the stove, his back to her as he expertly flipped a pancake. The sight of him cooking was surprisingly domestic, a side of him she hadn't expected. He wore a simple white shirt and jeans, his hair slightly tousled from sleep. He looked almost normal, like any other guy making breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning.
Sensing her presence, he turned around with a warm smile. "Good morning, Y/n," he greeted her softly.
"Good morning," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. There was something about the way he smiled that made her feel safe, even if she couldn't shake the unease completely.
He carried two plates of pancakes to the dining table and placed one in front of her. "Here, have some tasty pancakes. I made them just for you," he said with a grin.
Y/n sat down and mumbled a quiet "Thank you" as she picked up her fork. The pancakes looked and smelled amazing, and as she took her first bite, she couldn't help but let out a small hum of approval.
Taehyung watched her with a pleased expression. "Are you feeling better this morning?" he asked, his tone full of genuine concern.
She nodded, still chewing, and swallowed before replying, "Yes, I'm fine now. Thank you for... everything last night."
He waved off her thanks with a small chuckle. "It was nothing, Y/n. I couldn't just leave you alone when you were so scared."
They ate in silence for a few moments, the quiet punctuated only by the soft clinking of cutlery. Y/n's mind raced as she tried to think of something to say, something to break the tension she felt building inside her.
