As Taehyung left, Y/n's thoughts spiraled back to the night's traumatic events. She remembered the way Su hyeok assaulted her, his vile words still echoing in her ears.

"You're so pretty, Y/n," he'd slurred, his breath reeking of alcohol. "I bet no one's ever made you feel like a real woman before." His hand had trailed down her waist, and she shuddered at the memory.

Her desperate cries for help had gone unheard in the cacophony of the club, but then Taehyung had appeared, rescuing her from the nightmare.

Her mind drifted to other memories of Taehyung stepping in to protect her.

The time a group of senior girls had cornered her, taunting and bullying her until Taehyung arrived.

His fierce glare had sent them scattering, and she'd used the opportunity to escape, though she never forgot his intervention.

Then there was the day she'd crossed the street absentmindedly, a car hurtling towards her. Taehyung had yanked her back just in time, saving her life. She had muttered a quick thank you and hurried away, following Nancy's warning to avoid him.

Now, as she lay in bed, the pieces began to fit together in a different light. Despite the warnings, despite her fears, Taehyung had always been there for her.

Each memory, each act of protection, painted him not as the villain she was warned against, but as a guardian.

Her thoughts were a chaotic mix of guilt and gratitude. How could she have slapped him after all he had done for her?

She had rejected his love, spurned his protection, yet he had never wavered in his care for her. She felt an overwhelming sense of shame for doubting him, for not seeing his intentions clearly.

"Maybe I was wrong," she whispered to herself. "Maybe he's the only one who truly cares about me."

Taehyung's words from earlier echoed in her mind.

"You need me, Y/n. I will always be there to protect you, to love you." The sincerity in his voice, the concern in his eyes-they had to be genuine. Didn't they?

As she mulled over these thoughts, she started to believe in his manipulations. He had always been there when she needed him, always protecting her.

Maybe she did need someone like him, someone who understood the darkness of the world and could shield her from it. The more she thought, the more the seeds of doubt in her initial judgment of him took root.

Her heart felt heavy with the realization that perhaps she had been too harsh, too quick to judge. Taehyung's actions, though intense and sometimes frightening, came from a place of love and concern. Or at least, that's what she began to convince herself of.

She couldn't shake the feeling of guilt and the growing gratitude towards him. She owed him her safety, her life even, on more than one occasion.

"He deserves a chance," she thought. "He deserves my trust."
