A butler's morning begins early. He must start work before anyone else.

That is what Sebastian does. Sebastian is a very dedicated butler.

He is the very epitome of a butler, and he embraces its aesthetic to its highest degree. In being a butler, he excels.

He had gotten up early and began his day by ironing his uniform for proper presentability. A butler who does not ensure proper presentability, is a butler not worth his salt. Literally speaking, Sebastian is paid none by his lord. He is a devil, and being a butler is his worth and being at the moment. He will receive his pay in his lord's soul, and he is very much alright with that. As long as he gets his meal, he is satisfied. As for metaphorically speaking, Sebastian deserves all the salt in the world with how spectacular he is at playing this butler role.

He puts on his uniform and does his hair. And then, he slips on his white gloves. The gloves were especially convenient. Not only were they a necessity for his uniform, but they also hid the demonic mark from his and his lord's contract. His Faustian mark, as it was so referred to, was on the back of his left hand. How wonderful for him. Unfortunately, the same could have not been said his lord, who had his on his right eye. Alas, that decision was up to his lord himself, and the person behind the pain of receiving it, as getting a Faustian mark placed on one's body is painful, was none other than himself. Sebastian found it rather interesting, how far his lord was willing to go for power. A little fact about Faustian marks, the more visible, the more powerful the bond between a devil and it's master.

It was partially the reason for why Sebastian was such a competent butler. However, he would never say that aloud. Sebastian is merely one hell of a butler, as he would say to any human that dares question his unnatural ability to do things perfectly.

No, he was no devil. How ridiculous would that be? Instead of discussing such an idea, it'd be better to discuss more important matters.

Such as his work.

On top of ironing his own attire, he had ironed the clothing of the other Phantomhive manor staff, otherwise known as Mey-Rin, Finny, and Baldroy. He would iron their clothing because he knew well that they either wouldn't iron their clothing at all, or they would fail miserably at doing so and set the manor to flames. It would not be the first time.

Mey-Rin is the Phantomhive maid and was nothing short of being clumsy. It seemed as if the glasses she always wore were no longer of service to her and actually made her troubling eyesight even more troubling. Still, instead of removing them or placing them on top of her head, she insisted on keeping them on and therefore failed at most of the tasks she was given and breaking most if not all the porcelain she came across in the manor.

Finny is their gardener, yet he had a tendency to somehow kill every plant in his path when they were the most beautiful. The way in which that would happen would either be him unintentionally spraying the plants in weedkiller or him ripping them out of the ground due to his unnatural strength. He was the most childish of the Phantomhive staff, as per the fact that he was the youngest, being only a couple years older than his lord.

And then there is Baldroy. Where is Sebastian to begin with Baldroy? Well, if he really did have to say something about Baldroy, it would most likely be about how he nearly destroyed the manor's kitchen every day with a blowtorch. This wouldn't be as much of an issue, as if he were a different type of worker, he could simply be placed to work in a different area aside from the kitchen. Unfortunately, he is their chef. And a bad one, at that.

There was also Tanaka, the previous head-butler of the Phantomhive estate.

Sebastian had nothing to say about Tanaka. Tanaka was just fine.
