Valentines Day
Every couples favorite holiday
I woke up to my best friend asking me loads of questions
“Are you going to a cafe or library today?”
“If it's open, Library.”
I say
“Did the form go out yet for the library?”
Yea, actually just now, so I'm going to the library today. Why so many questions?”
He responds
“Someone keeps making me ask”
After that, I knew you were up to something
I joked that I wasn't going to go to school that day
I kept freaking out, not knowing what I was gonna say
I made you some things because that was all I could afford
I felt like what you were doing would absolutely surpass that
I wish I got you something more
The hour came
Class change
From period 5 to 6
You tapped me on the shoulder
Spun me around to meet your eyes
Your cheeky smile is one etched in my mind
You were so happy to make me happy
You bought me two bouquets
The first red roses, of course
But others too
My favorites
I never told anyone what my favorites were
Somehow, you just knew
Dahlias and Lilies
Together
It was us
Did you think that too
I love dahlias
With every color and shape
And lilies will always remind me of you
Because they hold your name
Even though you're gone
I still hold these memories
The smiles and the giggles
Even the anger and tears
I'll always keep them
I'll always think of you
