Meanwhile, Circe sat in the car with a sinking feeling in her stomach. She couldn't shake the worry and fear that had taken hold of her since the explosion. Her mind raced with the worst-case scenarios, and as she opened her journal to make an entry, she couldn't help but feel like they were all in danger.

"Latem, what are we doing here?" Circe asked, her voice trembling with unease. Latem looked up from her own journal, her expression serious and determined.

"We're here because this is the only place that can protect us," Latem replied, her voice tinged with worry. She glanced at her young sons, trying to remain calm for their sake, but the skies above seemed to reflect her inner turmoil, turning dark and foreboding.

As Cord's mother approached them, Latem couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. They had stopped at a Wendy's on their way to GuideStar, trying to distract themselves from the danger that seemed to lurk around every corner. But even as she smiled at her son and handed him another chicken nugget, Latem couldn't shake the feeling that they were all in grave danger.

The deafening sound of bullets filled the air, punctuated by the screams of a mother and the pounding of feet on pavement. Mari's heart raced with fear and anger as she stood in front of her children, her voice shaking as she demanded answers. "Where are my sons? Why would you just take me from my house?"

But her voice was drowned out by the roar of army vehicles driving down the road, their emblem of the menacing Novembers sending shivers down her spine. Latem, the only one with the courage to approach them, felt her own heart racing as she pointed towards the approaching trucks.

"They're here, and they're gonna kill us. Get inside now." Her voice was urgent and frantic as she gathered her things, her eyes darting back and forth between her family and the approaching danger.

Without hesitation, Mari and her children ran back to their car and grabbed their belongings. Circe, heavily pregnant, struggled to keep up with the rest as they all made their way towards the nearest building - GuideStar.

The Novembers jumped out of their vehicles, their guns raised and aimed at the fleeing family. Aronik, watching from the safety of the mainframe, felt a surge of panic as he saw them approaching. He pressed a button, activating the shield that would protect them. But even as the walls began to close, the Novembers continued to fire, their bullets ricocheting off the shield.

And then, Mari took a bullet in the back, her body falling to the ground with a scream of pain. "Run, kids!" she yelled, her voice filled with desperation and love.

The children kept running, their feet pounding against the pavement as they tried to escape. But the Novembers were relentless, their bullets taking down Latem as she ran, her blood staining the ground.

Aronik could only watch in horror as he saw the lifeless body of the woman he loved, her blood saturating the pavement. Tears streamed down his face as he felt a pain in his heart like he had never felt before. He thought she was gone forever, and the thought was unbearable.

Inside the shield, the rest of the family hid, their hearts pounding with fear. Tracia heard a cry for help and looked over the closing shield to see a pregnant Imogene running towards them. "Imogene, faster!" she screamed, her voice filled with urgency and fear. Imogene ran, her feet moving as fast as they could, her determination to reach safety giving her strength.

But the Novembers were closing in, their guns still firing as they chased after the family. The air was thick with the smell of gunpowder, and Tracia could taste the fear in her mouth. She knew they had to reach safety soon. They couldn't keep running forever.

One of the Novembers lifted his gun and aimed it at Imogene. She could practically smell the metallic tang of the weapon as she frantically searched for an escape. With a burst of adrenaline, she lunged through the body-sized crack in the wall, her heart pounding in her ears.
