Day 1: Write a poem using the beginning line of another poem.
Carpe Diem (Robert Frost)
.
Age saw two quiet children
out walking with old somber eyes
not a tear did fall, but as they walked,
they shared their plenty of sighs.
.
Youth and happiness gone in a sentence
the strength and life with a breath
they've learned of a lesson that many must learn,
when they hear of a young hero's death.
.
They have let fall what tears that did come,
and of those there were many,
but as they walk with their thoughts as their friends,
the silence is also their enemy.
.
A smile caresses the cheeks of the one,
that gazes so intently,
and in her eyes you can see the dance,
of a fond, but far away memory.
.
A memory that strengthens and brings on one more,
a silver drop lining her face,
a moist kiss to linger, as a shadow of sadness,
that clings to her lashes like lace.
.
The boy's deep dark eyes,
that had once shined so bright,
were muddied with the loss and the grief,
his thoughts could not bear to think of his friend,
who's life became forgotten and brief.
.
The day that they knew,
they both stuck together,
and though it was painful,
through all of the grief,
they ended up finding each other.

PoetryThis is a very original NaPoWriMo. It contains poems that mean a lot to me, as well as ones that bring tears to my eyes, or a smile to my lips. I love poetry, and I hope you love reading them as much as I loved writing them!
