Day 6: write a valediction to anything or anyone.
A Phone Call To Heaven:
.
I've thought about you often
and wrote many poems about you
I've shed many tears
and shared many smiles in memory of you.
.
I've shared with others
the hero you have come to be
and the hero you always were
but I've never addressed you.
.
So now I want to tell you
your life has done so many great things
your family has taken it so well
they know they will see you again.
.
So do we
but we still mourn
we do miss you
and your family does too.
.
We know you understand
what has happened
and what you have done
how many lives you have saved.
.
I just want to ask you
say hi to my brother for her
say hi to my grandpa for him
watch out for my grandma,
won't you?
.
Memories will always be with us,
and I know that we won't forget you,
you know that too,
it would be impossible to forget you.
.
In the meantime,
I'll be running
I'll be training
harder than ever.
.
I'll be doing it all for you
but don't worry,
I'll remember
not to push too hard.
.
Emily and I,
we finished our miles for you.
We finished 30 miles yesterday,
I did 15 and a half, she did 14 and a half.
.
I know that I almost hurt myself
that the heat got to my head,
but I won't do it again,
I'll keep hydrated,
and don't worry,
I'll put on sunscreen from now on!
(I've learned my lesson)

NaPoWriMo 2013
PoetryThis is a very original NaPoWriMo. It contains poems that mean a lot to me, as well as ones that bring tears to my eyes, or a smile to my lips. I love poetry, and I hope you love reading them as much as I loved writing them!
