Day 19: I'm not doing the prompt.
.
A good day,
time out, time in,
you wish you could stay,
but there it goes again.
.
A bad day,
dragging your feet,
you wish you could go away,
but you can't, so take a seat.
.
A lifetime,
a wish and a plead,
you commit your crimes,
and you do your good deeds.
.
A childhood,
living through it,
You remember what was good,
but wish you could relive it.
.
A memory,
those things you can't forget,
the things that create your story,
like a replay button cassette.
.
A melody,
the song between you,
the pleasantry,
the thing that you first knew.
.
A school,
a life of growing up,
your wish and tool,
you received when you were just a pup.
.
A kiss,
soft as a child,
then your first kiss,
you couldn't help but smile.
.
A story,
nightly traditions in bed,
while you soak in all the glory,
the joy in the books you read.
.
A test,
what life was back then,
you did your best,
now you say amen.
.
A gift,
thanks given when you're blessed,
a life to look and sift,
the things in which you're dressed.
.
A hill,
with three trees atop,
three trees known to kill,
on a hill where the blood flows nonstop.
.
A son,
an only child,
a teacher whose life is done,
a man whose touch is mild,
.
a sin,
a thing that wasn't done,
the evil in the grin,
the disappearance of the sun.
.
A grave,
a stone rolled back,
from the mouth of the cave,
a body to lack.
.
A love,
so strong and deep,
to fly like a dove,
to wake from his sleep.
.
A Dad,
a leader to the world,
to take care of every lad,
to watch as each flower unfurled.
.
An End,
a finish to the race,
it's right around the bend,
then you will see his face.

PoetryThis is a very original NaPoWriMo. It contains poems that mean a lot to me, as well as ones that bring tears to my eyes, or a smile to my lips. I love poetry, and I hope you love reading them as much as I loved writing them!
