Essays:
writing for your learning
writing for your health,
writing for your teacher,
but not ever for yourself.
.
Writing for the people
who really don't want to read,
writing for the people,
but you do not have the need.
.
Writing to obey,
just to get an okay score,
writing about anything,
I'll walk right out the door.
.
Writing in the last minute,
as your eyelids start drooping shut,
Writing so many essays,
when you want to do anything but.
.
Writing in the classroom,
under watchful eye,
writing for your homework,
when it just makes you want to cry.
.
How can you finish on time,
you really don't know at all,
you just keep writing on and on,
though sleep will come to call.
.
You write and write and write,
just try to fill the page,
the writing swarms around your head,
forming a homework cage.
.
Your eyes are bloodshot and teary,
your papers scatter the floor,
You know that you can do it,
just a half a page more.
.
You wake with a start at morning,
with the keyboard pressed into your face,
you start to panic, but realize,
you have already finished the race.
.
(just saying, 7 essays in one night is not a good thing.)

NaPoWriMo 2013
PoetryThis is a very original NaPoWriMo. It contains poems that mean a lot to me, as well as ones that bring tears to my eyes, or a smile to my lips. I love poetry, and I hope you love reading them as much as I loved writing them!
