"Royalty does not follow fashion. We make fashion.". — Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen about her sister, Princess Aelinor Targaryen, wedding dress at the Platinum Wedding.

True to the soon to be Princess Consort of Dorne's word, her twin sister wedding dress inspired a wave of a new style of dresses coined 'sea foam dresses' by Lady Laena Targaryen (nee Velaryon). — Excerpt from Targaryen Fashion: 1 AC to 200 AC by Professor Helion Martell.

At the Platinum Wedding, many nobles, the royal family included, came out in their finest clothing. The groom, Ser Laenor Velaryon, wore a Braavosi style doublet of black cloth with gold and green trimming, simple yet elegant with a pair of black boots.
And yet, it was his bride who would kickstart a new craze of fashion amongst the woman and maidens of the Seven Kingdoms.
The Princess of Dragonstone wore a sleeveless, flowing gown made from the finest white silk the crown could afford, with floral patterns around her waist. The front was a v shaped, though her breasts were hidden by the cloth. The back was also v shaped, but decorated with a panel of see through white lace that floated behind her like a cape when she walked. Sandals adorned her feet. Her jewelry was simple but striking.
A pair of dragon shaped earrings with diamonds for eyes were on her ears, a necklace of Valyrian steel and white moonstones adorned her neck, and on her brow was a circlet of Valyrian steel and milky quartz.
Since the bride and groom would marrying but not marrying into either respective house, they used rings to signal that they were married. The concept of wedding rings became popular all across Westeros, even in Dorne.
And at her own wedding, Princess Rhaenyra wore a silk gown that clung to her body down to her hips, and yet let the skirt flare out. This style dress was dubbed 'the mermaid dress' due to the similarities to the legendary mermaids. Her gown was red in color, one shoulder and backless with skin tight sleeves that went to her elbows of made red silk. White lace decorated her gown in floral and flame patterns, and she wore silver and ruby jewelry.
Needless to say, the Dragon Twins set a new trend of dresses, for both weddings and balls. And their little sister, Princess Daena, followed in their footsteps at her own wedding to Cregan Stark in 128 AC.
Prince Consort Daemon was overheard to say this when Princess Daena made her entrance at the Godswood.

"You have sired the three greatest beauties the realm has ever seen, brother." —Prince Daemon Targaryen to his brother, King Viserys I, at the wedding of Princess Daena Targaryen and Lord Cregan Stark
"I have. Thank Aemma for that." — King Viserys.

Notes:
Sea foam dresses is the equivalent of grecian style dresses in this story. Aelinor helped Rhae with designing the mermaid dress for her own wedding.

Both sisters didn't want to go the ballgown route so they made their own.

The Platinum Wedding is in the next chapter.
