#.. ONE

"we barely know anything about humans" high commander jungsu explained. "ever since us angels have found a place above the earth, we never went down.

we all know the humans are dangerous but we need more information about them to continue our research."

jungsu looked over to his assistant, jiseok, who cleared his throat and continued talking. "we designed a new technology that lets our wings disappear to seem more human.

we'll need two of you to take the risk, disguise as humans and go to earth to analyse human behavior..."

they knew no one would do it voluntarily. everyone looked around, shocked and speechless.

humans were taboo. they were dangerous and brutal. many many years ago they've tried this, too.

but they went down in their true form, which did not end well. they were hunted down, many of them died.

jungsu was the only one to survive. yet now his wings were damaged, burnt & bloody feathers.

someone rushed into the hall, the door opening with a loud sound. "sorry! didn't mean to come late!" it was no other but jooyeon.

they were scientists, focused on humans, which was important especially now. and jooyeon was late to the meeting - how usual of him.

jungsu and jiseok just glanced at each other, before looking back at jooyeon. "there, we already have a volunteer" jiseok sneered, looking at the clumsy scientist with a grin.

brushing his hair out of his face, jooyeon quickly sat down. "huh?" he asked, surprised. sitting down next to his best friend, he was lightly hit by the said boy.

"you're going down to earth to analyze human behavior" seungmin chuckled, watching jooyeon squirm due to his hit.

everyone expected jooyeon to get scared, but he just shrugged his shoulders. "alright. am i going alone?"

jungsu and jiseok did not expect that kind of reaction, usually everyone was scared of the earth. not jooyeon apparently. "well.." the younger of the two started, but was interrupted by the same man again.

"oh- but i wanna take seungmin with me!" seungmin looked at his best friend with widened eyes, his lips parting as he looked at the high commander and his assistant, shaking his head furiously.

the two just exchanged a few glances, telepathically trying to decide on the outcome, before jungsu spoke out.

"then seungmin is the second one who's going."

walking out of the meeting hall after everything was settled, seungmin was pissed at jooyeon.

"dude, you do know that this is basically a suicide mission?" jooyeon just shrugged again. "we just have to be careful. humans evolved."

seungmin followed him, confused. "what?!" "when jungsu's troop went down there it was 1951 in the middle of the korean war - they weren't hunted because they were angels but because they shot literally anyone!"

how did jooyeon know? "though i am surprised they have sent jungsu down there when he was still a kid.."

this was not what bothered seungmin. "why didn't you tell anyone?" he asked, grabbing the younger's wrist to stop him from walking.

and jooyeon sighed. "i'm already the crazed scientist, seungmin. and i found out in an illegal way.."

it took seungmin a few minutes to realise what he meant. "you went down there alone...?"

jooyeon nodded, a small grin plastered on his lips. "met a really nice guy there - he offered me his place to stay whenever i decide to come down." seungmin was stunned, he did not expect that.

"so we'll survive, seungmin, don't worry."
