CHAPTER SIX

As Roger realized the conversation was about to escalate, he started putting his jacket back on, signaling his imminent departure.
He walked towards the door, but suddenly felt a fist hit his jaw. Stumbling and falling to the floor, he didn't immediately realize what had happened.

It was Amelia who had hit him. She was almost screaming, her voice filled with rage. "My father has been gone for so long, 10 years! You took 10 years of my life! You know I only ever helped you to get information on my father's whereabouts. You made me torment everyone for so long, and for what? For your entertainment?"

Roger slowly stood up, rubbing his jaw, a cynical smile forming on his lips. "I knew you were going to find out sooner or later, but this—well, this was certainly a surprise."

Amelia's anger only grew. "Roger, I know you've always been a horrible person, but using me like that? You have entirely crossed the line. All I wanted was an explanation for my father's disappearance."

Suddenly, breaking the intensity of the conversation, Amelia's phone rang. She looked at it and saw that Charlotte was calling. A small smile cracked on her lips, realizing that Char was worried about her redheaded girlfriend since this conversation went longer than anticipated.
"I'm going to have to take this, Roger. Don't expect to hear from me ever again." She turned to walk out.

But Roger's voice stopped her cold. "Don't return any of my future calls, and your little girlfriend might have to suffer," he threatened.

Amelia, realizing the gravity of his words, turned around, her eyes blazing with fury. "Don't you dare try to even look at her wrong or I will gladly have your blood on my hands, and I bet Reecey and Aut wouldn't mind helping."

Roger, suddenly almost frightened, forced a smirk. "See you soon, Mia."

Amelia glared at him one last time before walking out, her phone clutched tightly in her hand, determined to protect those she loved at any cost.
