As Mia walked back into the nursery, she felt there was something else she needed to do. Standing in the corridor, she grabbed her phone and called Reece, Autumn's older brother.

As much as she hated to be the one calling for support this time, she knew it had to be done, for Autumn's sake. Mia didn't want her to be left alone with her thoughts. The phone had been ringing for merely two seconds when Reece picked up.

"Mia? Everything okay?" he asked, his voice laced with concern since she only called him if something was wrong.

"Hi, Reecey. Well, for some, better than others. I truly despise the fact that I have to ask you this, but could you please come to the nursery?" Mia asked, hoping he wouldn't ask any more questions.

"Uh, yeah sure, but why though? What's going on?" Reece inquired.

Mia continued, "Something happened with Daddy Dearest, and Autumn could really use her big brother-to, I don't know, talk or whatever it is that you both do."

"I'll be there in 15 minutes," Reece answered without hesitation, hanging up the phone without saying goodbye. When it came to his sister, he would drop everything in seconds.

Mia put her phone back into her pocket and walked back toward the office. Without knocking, she entered the room and found Char and Marjorie in almost the same position she had left them in.

Marjorie immediately looked at Mia. "Is everything alright with Autumn? Do you need me to go and talk to her?"

Mia glanced quickly at Char and said, "Everything is alright for now. I also rang Reecey and he'll-"

Char cut Mia off mid-sentence. "Amelia Roberts, we've talked about this. No more calling Reece 'Reecey,' alright?"

"Yes ma'am," Mia answered, slightly flustered as she'd just been told off.

Marjorie interrupted the couple's little flirtation by asking, "What is it that you were saying about Reece?"

Mia looked down at Marjorie, pausing for a moment. "Reece is on his way. I called him because I wanted Autumn to have someone she can definitely trust, unlike me."

Marjorie quickly continued, "Well... that is really nice of you. Thank you," she said, struggling to find the right words as she had still not overcome her shadow.
