Mia walked out of the building at a fast pace, trying to remain calm.
Roger's threat about Charlotte, the love of her life and the only person who loved her for who she truly was, had set Mia off entirely.

Out in the car park, she immediately spotted Char leaning against her blue Nissan, who was waiting for her redheaded girlfriend.

"Hey, everything okay?" Char asked in a worried tone as Mia approached.

Mia didn't respond immediately, not wanting to shout across the car park. Char could tell by Mia's determined pace that something was wrong. Without saying a word, Mia walked right up to Charlotte and enveloped her in a protective hug.

"Is everything alright?" Char asked again, her concern growing.

Mia shook her head and replied, "Let's go somewhere else. Your home, mine or even the nursery—I don't care. We need to get you out of here," she said in a hurried tone.

Char, slowly realizing the gravity of Mia's words, asked, "What do you mean, get me out of here?"

Mia looked her in the eyes, her urgency palpable. "I'll explain it to you once we've gone somewhere else."

Understanding the seriousness in Mia's voice, Char didn't question further.
She quickly unlocked the car, and they both got in. Char started the engine and headed towards the Knight Nursery, a place they both knew well and felt safe.

As they drove, the silence was heavy with unspoken fears. Char glanced over at Mia, who was staring straight ahead, her mind racing. "Mia, whatever it is, we can—"

Amelia cut her off mid-sentence. "Roger threatened you, Char. He said if I didn't return any of his future calls, you'd get hurt. I can't—" A small tear escaped Mia's eye, halting her words.

"Amelia, I can handle it. We can handle it," Char said softly, reaching over to squeeze her hand.

Mia nodded, her eyes meeting Char's for a moment. "I know, sweetheart. I know. I just... I need you to be safe."

When they finally reached Knight Nursery, Char parked the car, and they both got out, heading inside to the quiet, familiar surroundings. Mia took a deep breath; she hadn't been in the nursery for quite some time.
