Begin Again

"You were one of the models, right?" Minji asked Haerin as she stood in front of her seat. "Yeah." Haerin simply replied and looked away. "Do you know who you're gonna be walking with? Your partner?" Minji sat on a table in front of Haerin and leaned back. "No, they haven't told me yet." Haerin shrugged. "It's me." Minji smiled teasingly, causing Haerin to furrow her eyebrows. "Really? You sure?" Haerin tilted her head as she spoke to Minji. "Yes!" "Oh, alright then."

"By the way, do you have a mirror?" Minji asked, while Haerin hummed in response. "Can I borrow it?" Minji continued, Haerin nodded and took her small mirror engraved with her initials "H.K" from her pocket and reached her hands to Minji. Minji took the mirror, her hands slightly going further, reaching Haerin's hand instead of the mirror, she slid her hands down to the mirror softly and muttered "Thank you." while keeping her gaze to Haerin then walking away.

"What was that?" Danielle asked. "What was what?" Haerin turned to Danielle and questioned. "Minji was reaching too far, it's like she wanted to hold your hand!" Danielle chuckled and teased Haerin. "No way, Dani! Maybe it was an accident." Haerin rolled her eyes playfully and chortled. "An accident?! Girl- she has done that multiple times! You think I wouldn't notice?!" Danielle sat next to Haerin and chompped on her carrot sticks. Seconds later, Hyein who's also her close friend joined their session. "Yeah! She does that ONLY to YOU! We've seen it happen a lot, Hae." Hyein also sat next to her.

"Oh my- since when did you even arrive?! You startled me!" Haerin widened her eyes and held her chest, making the other two giggle. "That's not what's important. The thing is, she's always been doing it to you when she comes to borrow your things. I mean, Hanni has a mirror, right? Why would she borrow yours and even touch your hand like that?!" Hyein tilted her head dramatically and furrowed her eyebrows. "Keep your voice down! Maybe she doesn't know that Hanni has a mirror?"

"You are an oblivious woman." Hyein sighed and blinked.

"Or maybe you're just delusional." Haerin shrugged, causing Hyein to slap her playfully. "Yah!"

"Other than that, her gaze literally becomes different when it comes to looking or talking to you. Her eyes becomes all dreamy and shit! Do you not see that or are you blind?" Danielle scootched closer and whispered. "Guys, she has a girlfriend, who is my bestfriend." Haerin looked down, unconsciously feeling something that made her sad. "Ouch." Hyein pursed her lips at Haerin's situation.

"Do you think she still has a thing for you?" Danielle squinted her eyes and wiggled her brows teasingly. "Dani! We were over long ago! Heck, we didn't even have a label that time!" Haerin got annoyed and sighed loudly. "Alright alright! Chill, Kang! No need to be an angry cat." Danielle chuckled and patted Haerin's head.

"Anyway, you coming with us to the mall later?" Danielle backed down and asked. "Yes, but only because I'll be home alone." Haerin sighed and rested her down again. "Here you go, thank you, Kitty Kang." A low female voice suddenly spoke, Haerin looked up to see Minji reaching her hand with her mirror. "Kitty Kang?" Haerin took her mirror as she giggled at the new nickname Minji has given her. "I found it cute, and it suits you, so yeah. Kitty Kang." Minji chuckled  and smiled before going back to where Hanni was.

"I think we're right about our assumptions." Hyein leaned to Haerin's ear and whispered teasingly. "Guys, friends gives friends nicknames, that's totally normal!" Haerin nodded. "Yeah, but she doesn't do that to any other girls and she shouldn't because Hanni might get jealous! It's just, we think you have your own special place to her." Danielle tilted her head. "How is that so?" The cat-like girl asked. "Well- she always says goodbye to you- " Danielle was about to finish her sentence but she was cut off by Haerin. "She always says goodbye to everyone! You both need calm your delusions down!" Haerin chuckled patted their backs.

"Haerin! Where the heck are you? We're all already at the mall, don't tell me you're still taking a shower." Hanni called over the phone. "My brother used my car, you know I don't use public transportations." Haerin explained on the other line. "I'll just pick you up, wait for me there!" Minji spoke through the phone since she's already with Hanni. "O-okay, thanks!" Haerin thanked Minji, a bit surprised at her gesture.

Haerin waited outside their porch until a black luxury SUV pulled over, she knew who's car it was, Minji had came from a rich family, no wonder she has dozens of cars. "Hi." Minji waved with a smile to Haerin as she got down from her car and walked towards Haerin. "Hello, thanks for picking me up." Haerin gave a smile as Minji placed her hand on Haerin's back while they walk to the car. "No problemo, just call me when things like this happen again. I'm only one call away." Minji smiled and turned to Haerin who was starting to blush from her words. Haerin hummed and nodded in response, trying to hide her smile which Minji found adorable.

"Why am I even feeling this way?! For God's sake, Haerin! She has a girlfriend! Your bestfriend!" Haerin scolded herself in her mind for turning pink. Minji opened the passenger's seat for Haerin and looked at her one more time before closing the door. "You didn't left anything behind?" Minji spoke as she buckled her own seatbelt. "Mhm, all good." Haerin smiled before sighing deeply and calming her body down.

"Can I come over to your place later?" Minji suddenly asked, causing Haerin to slightly choke on her own saliva. "W-why?" Haerin wondered why Minji wanted to come over, she had never said that before. "Help me practice for the runway? You know I'm not good with that stuff, and maybe we could also practice together?" Minji glanced at Haerin and then looked back to the road. "Oh... of course, but have you asked Hanni yet?" Haerin asked worriedly, she knows they're all good friends, but she wanted to respect their relationship.

"Yup!" Minji smiled widely with her puppy eyes. "Alright, you can come over later." Haerin smiled with a soft nod. After a 10 minute drive, they arrived at the mall.
