Autumn walked down the hall and instantly spotted Mia. How could she not? She was laughing with a group of girls, most likely after doing something reckless that would get her in trouble with the teachers.

Autumn was only 13 years old. She loved Mia and had always looked up to her. She was Pretty and popular. Everyone either wanted to be her, or be with her. Autumn wasn't sure which...

She had been thinking a lot lately, because she didn't see Mia as a friend. Everything about her was intriguing to the brunette. Of course she would never tell her, or anyone else. Girls can't like girls. What would people think? She didn't even need to ask. Especially with her father. And besides, Mia is Reece's best friend. They have been forever. And of course the most obvious; why would anyone like Autumn?

Autumn was known around the school, purely because of her family name. She wasn't popular and she didn't have many friends, but people knew her name. Autumn didn't like to talk to people much, for the most part she was scared. Not like she's ever admit it, but, if her own mother left her, why would anyone else want to stay?

She much preferred to sit in her room with her old time music and books. That's what she loved about Mia. She was so confident. She always had something to say and everyone would agree with her. She walked around like she was on top of the earth while everyone just admired from afar.

Mia adored Autumn. She was like the little sister she always wanted. She admired the girl and how she never pretended to be something she wasn't. She may not have many friends, but that's what makes her happy. She could sit alone and read and keep to herself. She was so naturally beautiful with long brunette hair. But most importantly she was beautiful on the inside. That's what Mia liked the most.

Mia knew she was pretty enough for boys to like her. Her body was 'okay'. However she truly believed she was ugly on the inside. It maybe her mother's words that seep into her head and her heart. After all these years of constant backhanded compliments and insults she started to believe it herself.

Autumn however, was like an angel. So sweet and innocent and beautiful inside and out. Mia found herself jealous of the girl at times but never once felt anything short of love.

"Hey Aut" she smiled at the young her girl who instantly perked up at the call of her name, "come here"
"Uh, hi" Autumn smiled,
"How are you sweetheart? No one giving you trouble?" When Autumn first joined the secondary school Mia had told her to send anyone who gave her trouble her way.

"No" she smiled in reply,
"Good. Now this is my little sister, so treat her like a princess, okay?" Mia warned the girls around her
"You are so totes cute" one blond giggled.

Despite feeling a little awkward, Autumn felt comfort at the older brunette pulling her into her side.
"Uh thanks?" It came out more of a question than anything,
"Come on, I'll walk you to class. Bye girls" Mia's hand rests on Autumn's shoulder as they walk away from the group.

"Sooo any new crushes?" Mia asks
"What? No-I" the 13 year old stumbled on her words,
"Oh come on Aut. No one?" Mia's bright smile and giggles made Autumn's heart pound in her chest.
"Well... maybe someone. But it's nothing" she awkwardly looks to the floor.

"Who is it?!"
"No one you'll know" Mia could tell she was nervous
"Okay. You don't have to tell me" Autumn released a breath of relief. She had previously talked with her small group of friends and mostly, almost every girl in their year liked this one boy. He was the most popular boy in their year group.

Autumn agreed with the girls and told them she liked him too, at least then she had an answer, right? Of course she could never tell anyone the truth. Girls don't like girls. Besides, Kyle Killerman was a very good looking boy. It's not like he would ever notice the brunette, but he wasn't a bad guy to have a crush on. Maybe she would actually like him. Or at least, a boy.

Mia walked Autumn to her classroom, which of course gained the attention of the other students waiting to go in.
"Autumn" a cheery brunette smiled from the line. Scarlett was Autumn's best friend and had been since they met on the first day of school.

"Hey, this is Mia"
"I've heard of you. It's nice to meet you" Scarlett smiles
"You too. Anyways, best be off. I'll see you later Aut" Mia pulled her in for a last hug before leaving the girls.

It was the last lesson of the day, Mia was scheduled to have Geography which she absolutely hated. The girl wanted to travel and see the world, hence taking the subject. What she didn't care for was how a waterfall was made or how to measure waves and lakes and what not.

Of course the girl didn't plan on going to lesson, instead she shot a message to her best friend.
