Broken Innocence

18. The beginning of the end.

"Mia!" Autumn called while running into her with a smile on her face,
"Hey Aut, you look happy"
"Someone asked me to prom"
"That's great Aut. Who is it?" Mia asked. She knew that Autumn was nervous about going to her prom, especially if she had no one to go with.

"Kyle Killerman! He left a note in my locker. How crazy is that?" And suddenly it all clicked. The world seemed to stop for a moment and just dull as Mia realised what she had done.

"I'm so happy for you Aut, we have to go shopping together for your dress" she smiled. Autumn looked so happy. Like someone had finally seen her. And it was all fake.

From this moment onwards, things for Reece, Autumn and Amelia, will never be the same again.

This was the beginning of the end.

Mia couldn't help the torture in her mind. What has she done? What has Roger done? Why would he torment his own daughter like that?

She stormed into the office causing a rather furious look from the man,
"What did you do?" The man raises a brow and clears his throat
"Excuse you?"
"That note you made me give to Autumn. Faking someone asking her to prom? Seriously? Why would you do that to your own daughter?"

The man sighed while standing up and walking around the desk,
"I don't know what you're talking about Amelia"
"What?!"
"If you played a prank on my daughter, that's your problem"
"Prank?" Mia could not believe what she was hearing. Was Roger seriously about to turn this all on her? She should have known really...

Mia locked herself in her room after the 'conversation' with Roger. She couldn't believe this. If Autumn found out that it wasn't Kyle who put that note in her locker and it was mia, she'd hate her forever. So would Reece.

Roger played her. She knew it would be bad, but this bad? Reece and Autumn would never forgive her. Why would Roger do this? Why would he want to tear the three apart after everything they'd been through. He knew she was all his children had, they were all she had.

If they found out about this, nothing would be the same.

Reece had just left Autumn's room, after her telling him about the note in her locker'. Reece was undoubtedly worried. Autumn was still and would always be his baby sister and he wasn't sure about any boy who seemed to like her. However he could see how happy his sister was and was therefore happy for her.

As he happened to walk past his father's office, he saw Roger shaking hands with Kenney Killerman. The older of the brothers worked around the local schools and nurseries, delivering supplies. Reece knew him through working at his own school, yet he never liked the man.

They weren't close at all, but Reece saw the way he would look at the girls in the halls while at their school and the blond did not agree with it at all.

What struck Reece's curiosity was why he was in his house. And why his father was smiling. What sort of deal would Roger make with him?

Then it hit him. The note autumn received was from 'k. Killerman' maybe it wasn't from Kyle at all.

Reece saw red. Pure rage ran through the teen as the thought of that grown man and his sister. His 15 year old sister.

He was not about to let him hurt Autumn.
