"AUT!" Reece shouts as he rushes to his sisters room,
"What's up?" She quickly puts the book down after seeing her brother's worried state.
"Mia. And me. I- she... we kissed"
"W, what?"Mia and Reece kissed?! Autumn couldn't believe it. They were best friends. She never thought they would be anything more.
"What do you mean you kissed? What happened?" Reece begins to pace back and forth
"Well we're just there and talking and drinking and then it just happened. And I didn't know what to say and she didn't know what to say and we just sat there and then her friend came out and we went back inside and then pretended like nothing happened"Autumn could barely keep up with her brother's rambling but was attempting to make sense of it all in her head. Her brother and the girl she liked. The girl who practically lives in the back of her mind. No. You can't think that Autumn. The girl mentally slapped herself for her own thoughts.
"Autumn?" She was brought out of her trance when her brother sits down on her bed, "what do I do now?" He asks
"You're asking me?" The boy nods,
"Okay. Well, uh, how do you feel about her?"
"I don't know. She's my best friend Aut" the blond sighs,
"I know. But do you like like her? More than friends?"
"I don't know"
"Well u need to figure that out big brother" Autumn smiles. As much as she wants Reece to be happy, and Mia of course, she can't help the little tug at her heart.
"I know. How was ur night?"
"The usual. Just reading"
"Okay. I'll let you get back to it. Night sis" Reece smiles before standing back up,
"Night"Reece goes back to his own room. Debating on what to do next. He picks up his phone and scrolls to the contact number. Wondering if he should text or not.
Hey, get home okay?
It didn't take long for Mia to respond, in all honesty, she was debating whether or not to text him.
Mia :)
Hey, yeah. All safe
Good. U okay?
Yeah. U?About tonight, what did it mean?
It doesn't have to meen anything
I know. But I don't want things to be awkward ur my best mate

I don't wanna ruin our friendship
But?
But maybe we should talk in person?
Okay. Tomorrow?
Sounds good
Night Reecey x
Mia laid on her bed with her phone in her hands. Before tonight she never really thought of Reece as anything but a best friend. But maybe it was something more. She did love him. She knew he was always there for her and they would protect each other forever. But that's because they're friends, right?
Did tonight mean something more?
Everything happens for a reason, right?
Or maybe I am reading too much into this...
why can I not stop thinking about it?
About Reece?...
The next day arrived soon enough and Mia and Reece had planned to meet at the park they always hang out at.
"Soo, you wanted to talk in person?" Mia slowly pushed herself on the swing with her feet,
"Yeah. Look Mia, so don't know what I'm doing or what I feel or whatever but-" reece trails off not entirely sure was to say,
"But what?"
"We kissed" Reece looks at the girl. She couldn't help but smile at his serious features,
"We did"
"And I don't want to ruin what we already have but... maybe there is something more?" Reece stutters. He had spent all night assessing every moment he spent with Mia. Trying to work out whatever they were. He did like Mia. She was gorgeous and smart and made him laugh no matter what. He felt so safe and happy around her. But did she feel the same?
Reece knew Mia had the option of every boy in the school. Even older. Why would she pick Reece?
"Reecey you think way too much" Mia laughs, pulling Reece from his thoughts.
"What do you mean?"
"We will always be best friends. Family. No matter what" she smiles, "Let's just see where this goes"Did I hear that right? See where it goes? She would actually give me a chance? Me? Reece's thoughts went wild in his head,
"Okay""Now stop being cringe, I wanna do something fun" her usual mischievous smirk returns
"Like what?" Mia doesn't reply. Instead she just raises a brow "Something legal" Reece sighs
"Never mind" she rolls her eyes.
