The next morning, we somehow ended up naked on the floor when we absolutely should still be sleeping. We both got up around six, and it just felt like the right moment.

My mom didn't catch us sleeping in the same room together because if she did, we obviously wouldn't be in the same room right now.

She's not ultra-traditional, but in her own home, she doesn't exactly believe that people who aren't officially couples should be sleeping in the same bed.

She doesn't care about the people who are in a relationship, but she has this thing about prohibiting Major and me from sleeping in a bed with someone we aren't actually dating.

Now, I can see where she's coming from, but I also don't see why it matters so much. Because if two people want to have sex, they're going to, couple or not. So, unless there's a different reason, one that I'm not aware of, then I don't see why a relationship has to be official.

However, she is more focused on my dad and probably getting sleep herself so I don't think she cares about what Nick and I are up to. Or maybe she thinks we are a couple and just haven't said anything in the jumble of everything that's going on.

I'm not so sure what Violet thinks of everything or if she told Major about how much she's noticed. She won't keep the secret - if that's even what it is at this point - for long because she tells Major every single detail about her life.

I'm not saying that she shouldn't do that but because she does, that also means that Major might find out about Nick and me soon. She certainly noticed what's been going on between Nick and me; there is no way to pretend that she didn't.

Nick doesn't seem to mind people finding out; we did just have sex on my childhood bedroom floor. It was too weird to have sex in my bed for one, and I'm sure the bed probably squeaks by now, so I was too afraid to even try. Either way though, Nick for sure wasn't holding back.

We were quiet, but anyone could have walked in on us. He knows there isn't a lock on my door, unfortunately. That was always a big argument between my mom and me when I was getting older.

It wasn't because she was going to open it without knocking, but I just thought it was odd that I didn't have a lock. She was only concerned about me, I understand that now.

"Alice?"

"Nick."

He hesitates.

"Nothing."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I don't want to say what I was going to say anymore."

I can understand that. I think about saying 'I love you' every time I look at Nick's face. Then, I back out because I'm a coward who's scared of potentially ruining one of the greatest relationships of my life.

"It's nothing bad, right?" I clarify "Because you can tell me if it is."

"No, sunshine, nothing bad."

"My dad is going to be completely fine. Way better off than I was."

Nick chuckles, running his fingers over my spine.

"I think you turned out alright," he teases, his tongue dancing over my collarbone.

His fingers move lightly over my hip, my thighs, between my legs. I hiss in a breath as his fingers swipe over my still-sensitive clit. He just holds his warm fingers there, letting me relax before giving me another brief and tender touch.

"So damn perfect," he mumbles into my skin.

"Please," I whimper, his fingers now circling my clit.

"Please what? You've gotta tell me what you want."
