patrick 🤍

ky 👸🏽
I'm very fed up with sleeping alone. Now this bed feels massive, and it's cold every time I roll over and I miss you.

patrick 🤍
me too, baby

ky 👸🏽
you should be asleep by now
why are you awake

patrick 🤍
so should you

ky 👸🏽
I'm not the one playing in the superbowl tomorrow

patrick 🤍
why are you awake

ky 👸🏽
got distracted

patrick 🤍
by what?

ky 👸🏽
thoughts

patrick 🤍
what kind of thoughts

ky 👸🏽
it's a long story

patrick 🤍
that worries me

ky 👸🏽
It's not bad

ky 👸🏽
I was thinking about what you said a few weeks ago about releasing an album, and the other day, I finished writing a song that I'm weirdly proud of, and I think I want people to hear it.

patrick 🤍
I think you should do it. you sound
like you really want to

ky 👸🏽
I spiraled, and now I've got colour coded tabs in my notebook, and I've got about four albums planned out

patrick 🤍
how long have you been spiralling

ky 👸🏽
two hours, maybe three

ky 👸🏽
you never answered my question
why are you awake

patrick 🤍
I was asleep but I woke up

patrick 🤍
my bed felt empty. I miss u

ky 👸🏽
I just wanna lay with you these
rules are ridiculous

patrick 🤍
I know, baby

patrick 🤍
can you facetime me? I wanna hear u

ky 👸🏽
of course

"Hey, gorgeous." patrick murmered tiredly to his girlfriend through his screen as she answered the call and placed her phone on the desk in front of her, propping it up on the lamp. her cheeks flushed pink at his compliment.
"Hi." she smiled at him and looked down at what she was writing to finish a sentence.
"I thought you were in bed." he commented.
kylie shook her head gently.
"I've written like three songs tonight, I don't know what's going on up here." she tapped the side of her head with the pen in her hand, making patrick laugh.
"What are they about?" he asked her.
she looked down at the book, hesitating before answering him.
"One of them is about being famous and like in the spotlight and stuff and then another one about my dad." she explained.
"The other one?" her boyfriend enquired.
"You." she smiled, looking at her screen to see his lips turn up into a small smile. "Well, kind of, I don't know." she shrugged.
"Has it got a name?" he asked, his voice starting to get quieter as he grew tired.
"i think im calling it obsessed." kylie nodded.
"mhm sounds cool." patrick yawned and stretched his arms out above his head.
"Are you tired? I can shut up and let you sleep." she murmered softly.
"Please keep talking." He said, his voice muffled as he got comfier.
kylie was quiet for a moment as she sat lightly chewing on her thumbnail whilst watching him. she thought about doing something she'd never felt comfortable enough to do before with anyone.
"Can I sing you the song I wanna release?" she asked.
"mhm." he nodded. kylie picked up a smaller guitar from out of frame. "Is that new?"
"Yeah, I bought it last week. it folds up." she smiled, demonstrating how the guitar folded in half to be transported easily.
"That's so cool." he smiled again. he loved watching her talk about and do things she was passionate about because she always had a happy glow around her, which really showed in the way her nose scrunched when she smiled and laughed.
"Hm. close your eyes, though. I don't want you to watch me."
"Okay." he let out a little laugh as he closed his eyes and got comfy, the sound of kylie gently playing the guitar beginning to bless his eardrums.
she started singing softly, not wanting anyone else on her hotel floor to hear her.

"You always liked an after party,
so I guess I should've known.
say we hate the paparazzi,
now you're somewhere they can't go.
I hope you know I'm sorry,
that I'm not with you right now.
can't pick up when you call me,
I can't hear it through the clouds.
I've been waiting right outside,
been tryna bribe the bouncer,
he says,'Not tonight'."

she glanced over at the screen to see patrick still laying with his eyes closed, only this time he had a small smile on his face as he listened to her.

"I hope you're dancing in club heaven,
smoking some blue dreams with your legends.
I hope you're up in the vip,
raising some he'll for me,
until I get there.
to club heaven."

she played a few more chords before slowly coming to a stop and looking back over to her phone.
patrick hadn't changed at all, still laying on his side with his eyes closed, and his lips turned up into a smile.
"Are you sleeping?" she asked him softly, only getting a tired grunt in reply. "Okay, I love you."
he mumbled something back to her, but she didn't quite catch what he said, so she took it as an 'I love you too'.

the next day, the day of the superbowl, they didn't get a chance to talk to each other until they met just before the game.
patrick and kylie had almost fallen into a routine when they met in the tunnel before games, and this day was no different, except she was on the sidelines waiting for him.

he smiled when he saw her. a big, genuinely happy smile that somehow grew even bigger when he saw the jacket she was wearing. a red one, of course. it was shiny, with his last name and number stitched onto the back in yellow.

"Hi baby." she smiled as he placed one of his hands on her back, holding his helmet with the other as he bent down to kiss her. "Good luck."
"I love you." he said, kissing her again.
"I love you, too. go kick some ass."

everyone was on the edge of their seats throughout the entire game. the first quarter ended in both teams having seven points each. the eagles had scored first, which made everyone even more nervous than they already were, but then patrick threw the ball to travis, and he scored a touchdown.
both teams scored another touchdown each at the beginning of the second quarter, and then the eagles scored another touchdown.
about halfway through the quarter, patrick decided to scramble with the ball. He ran quickly until one of the eagles players grabbed his right ankle, and he went flying to the ground.
kylie knew he was injured the moment he hit the floor. she watched intently as he pulled himself up and limped off to the sideline, where he flung himself down on the bench, wincing as shock rolled through his leg.
he knew he'd injured his ankle, the same ankle that he'd injured in the game against the jaguars, and that is what was getting to him. he knew how much he struggled to play on in that game, and coach Reid had told him that if it wasn't mended by the Super Bowl, he wouldn't be allowed to play. he was terrified of letting his teammates down, so he insisted that he would be fine after he rested it during halftime. thankfully, he didn't have to go back onto the field for the rest of the second quarter.
the eagles ended the half with a field goal, leaving the chiefs trailing by ten points. it wasn't looking good for them at all.
after half time, patricks ankle was actually feeling a bit better, he had cut the tape of in the locker room to move it about a bit before getting a stronger tape job before he went back onto the field.
the third quarter was tense, isiah scored a toachdown at the begining, which gave everyone more hope now that the scores were closer together, but then the eagles scored another field goal, still leaving the chiefs trailing behind, but now by six points instead of ten.
everyone's hope was dwindling as they entered the fourth and final quarter, but it didn't stay that way for long when kadarius Toney scored a touchdown just three minutes in, giving the chiefs their first lead of the game, even if it was just one point. another three minutes later, skyy Moore scored another touchdown, leaving the chiefs with thirty-five points and the eagles with twenty-seven.
with five minutes left to go, the eagles scored one more touchdown, making the points equal. if the chiefs didn't score again, the game would go into overtime, and the eagles wefe were more likely to win.
the last five minutes passed by painfully slowly, everyone watching the game intently.
it was getting closer and closer to the end of the game, and neither team had scored anything. the chiefs had possession of the ball in the last three minutes, which was good.
patrick threw the ball to jerick mckinnon, and he ran with it, dropping down just before the endzone, meaning the chiefs were now in field goal range.
kylie could almost hear how fast her heart was beating as Harrison stepped up to kick the ball. it flew through the air, looking like it was too far to the left to make it, but it went straight through, and the stadium erupted into the loudest cheers she had ever heard.
