the next week and a half flew by in a blur of parties, Disneyland, jimmy kimmel, and the parade, which meant both patrick and kylie were exhausted by the end of it all.
they had decided to fly over and stay in kylies house in philadelphia for a little while.
the couple spent most of their first day there tangled up in bed, making up for any time they'd lost together during the playoffs and in the lead up to the Super Bowl - which was a lot.
it was late, around half eleven, when kylie was woken up by her ohone  buzzing wildly on her nightstand.
she picked it up, wincing at the brightness of her screen as she read the contact name along the top of the screen. kylie kelce.
she answered the call quickly and pressed her phone up to her ear.
"Hello?" she questioned, keeping her voice quiet in an effort not to wake patrick up.
"Hey, Ky. I'm really sorry to call you this late." it was jasons voice on the other end, and he sounded stressed about something.
"jase? is everything okay?" she asked, hearing a commotion in the background.
"Uh, kind of. basically ky's in labour and my mom was supposed to be here by now but her flights been delayed and she won't be here till like six and travs on his way but he still won't be here for another four hours and we know your probably really tired but-" Jason started rambling, she could hear him get into the car and start the engine, and then the call connecting to the cars Bluetooth.
"Bring the girls over, I'll look after them." she said. she rolled further onto her side and flicked her lamp on to wake herself up a bit.
"Are you sure? I'm sorry it's so last minute, but I couldn't think of anyone who would answer."
"it's totally fine. How far away are you?"
"Like twenty minutes, thank you so much."
"it's no problem at all, promise. I'll see you when you get here." she hung up and placed her phone back down before rolling over and sliding her hand over patricks bare chest.
"patrick," she hissed, gently shaking him. when he didn't respond, she placed a kiss on his jawline and then another his neck.
"God, you are an animal tonight." he mumbled, his eyes slowly opening.
"That's not why I'm waking you up. put some clothes on, we're babysitting wyatt and Ellie." she smiled, pulling back the covers and sitting on the edge of the bed.
"What? ky it's..." she felt the mattress move as patrick rolled over to check the time. "...it's nearly midnight."
"I know, but kylies in labour and they couldn't find anyone else." she explained, pulling one of his shirts over her head.
he huffed, begrudgingly dragging himself out of bed and picking up his discarded clothes from earlier that night.
when Jason dropped the girls at the door, Ellie was asleep, so kylie took her. she rested her head on her shoulder and wrapped her tiny arms around kylies neck, waking up a little but not fully.
"Let's go find you a bed, huh?" kylie murmered softly. Ellie just nodded, rubbing tiredly at her eyes.
once she had settled ellie down, kylie made her way downstairs, stopping just outside the door to the sitting room when she heard patrick and wyatt talking. she peered into the room and saw patrick holding wyatt on his hip whilst she looked at a row of photos in frames going along the wall.
"Who's that?" she asked, pointing at a picture of kylie when she was around twelve years old, holding a little pitbull puppy.
"That's kylie when she was younger." patrick told her.
wyatt looked at the next photo, one of kylie and leah dressed in their cheer uniforms from high school.
"we don't like Auntie leah anymore." she said, scrunching her nose as if she was disgusted.
"You dont?" patrick asked.
"she made Uncle travvy sad." wyatt sighed.
"Yeah, she did." he agreed with her.
"Who's that boy?" she pointed at another picture, but kylie couldn't see who it was until she heard patrick talk.
"Oh, his name is Joe." he sounded confused.
"he's holding a football- Can we watch the Eagles game?" wyatt asked, forgetting all about the photos on the wall.
"it might be a bit too late for that. Why don't we ask kylie and see what she thinks?" patrick reasoned with her.
"Ask me what?" kylie asked, making it look like she had just walked into the room. as she walked closer, she looked over to the photo they were looking at. it was a picture of her and Joe during the summer a while ago. they were standing beside a lake and he was stood behind her left side, holding a football in one arm whilst the other one was wrapped around her, as I'd he was covering her chest with his forearm. she had both of her hands on his forearm and was leaning back against his chest, and their heads were tilted towards each other.
there was something written on the bottom left of the picture in small handwriting that said "taken by tim." with the date and a little smiley face next to it.
"Can we watch the Eagles game?" wyatt asked her, making her eyes wide and batting her eyelashes at kylie.
"Hmm, I don't know, it's pretty late." she contemplated, looking at the time on her phone.
"pleaseeee." wyatt pleaded.
"okayyy." kylie mimicked her.
"Yes!"

they ended up finding an old eagles vs broncos game on YouTube, and all sat on the couch to watch it. wyatt ended up falling asleep about ten minutes in, which didn't really surprise anyone.

"I'm gonna take her upstairs. Are you coming to bed?" kylie asked, standing up and picking wyatt up from the couch.
"Yeah, I'll turn everything off down here and head up." patrick nodded.
when kylie had put wyatt down to sleep with Ellie in the spare room, she walked quietly back to her own bedroom, only to find it empty. she quickly checked the bathroom that was connected, but that was empty too, so she walked down the stairs again.
patrick had turned everything off like he said he would, but stopped what he was doing when he saw the photo of kylie and Joe on the wall.
he stood looking at it when she walked into the sitting room again.
"You look so young in this one. how old were you?" he asked her.
"Sixteen." she answered, looking at the date.
"Sixteen? Joe wasn't famous when he was that young." patricks eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"I know." kylie nodded, a small smile forming on her face. "he pooks the exact same."
"You said he made you sign an nda."
"Oh." kylies smile fell. she'd completely forgotten that patrick knew about the nda she had signed and that she'd let him believe it was joe who had made her sign it.
the room was completely silent, aside from the distant ticking of a clock in the kitchen, and it seemed like an eternity before patrick eventually spoke again.
"Ky?"
"I panicked." she blurted out, keeping her eyes glued to the photo.
"What?" he glanced over at her, confusion evident on his face.
"You asked if it was joe, and I panicked 'cause I didn't know why you thought that." she explained.
"You started paying more attention to the mateos list."
"I was scared that if I said no, you would ask why I reacted to Joe's name. I'm sorry."
as soon as kylie said that, patrick looked up at the photo once more, and everything clicked. the date was just two weeks before her dad passed away, which meant it was about a month before she found out she was pregnant.
"No, it's okay, I get it." he smiled softly down at her.
"but I lied to you." she mumbled, staring down at the floor to avoid any eye contact.
"Not really." he shrugged. "You just let me believe the wrong thing. you were very closed off then."
"I still am." kylie huffed out a small laugh.
"Not with me." patrick smiled.
"That's because I trust you. I-"
"kylie? ellies crying." A small voice interrupted their conversation. they both looked over to the door to see wyatt standing there, rubbing her tired eyes and dragging her blanket along the floor.
"Oh okay honey, Im just coming." kylie smiled and went over to her, holding out her hand, which wyatt grabbed onto.
patrick watched them both as they went up the stairs, smiling to himself as he thought that someday that would be kylie with their own child.

Ellie was still sniffling after fifteen minutes of both patrick and kylie trying to console her. she was currently in kylies arms, curled up with her head resting against her shoulder.
"I want beans." she mumbled.
"Beans?" kylie questioned, glancing up at patrick with a confused look on her face.
"Beans is her teddy elephant." wyatt explained. "he's at home."
"Oh great." kylie sighed and walked out of the room, leaving patrick and wyatt sitting on the bed.
it didn't take long for wyatt to fall asleep, spread out like a starfish in the middle of the big double bed, which patrick took as his sign to go back to his own bed.
as he walked across the hallway, he could hear kylie talking softly in a room he hadn't even noticed before.
he walked past the open door and peered in, spotting kylie as she placed Ellie down in a crib and put a small elephant teddy down next to her.
she brought her hand up to her eye as if she was wiping a tear away and turned towards the door, smiling when she noticed patrick standing there.
"she asleep?" he whispered. kylie nodded and slowly shut the door, leaving a small gap where the hallway light could shine through.
"Did you text trav?" she asked, also keeping her voice quiet.
"Yeah, he said he's gonna stop and get it before he comes here."
"Cool." she murmered. they made their way back to the bedroom in complete silence, and patrick only noticed when kylie fluffed up her pillow a bit too aggressively before she climbed into bed next to him. she pulled the covers right up around her, as if she was trying to hide under them.
"You okay?" patrick asked, gently stroking one of her curls behind her ear. kylie nodded, sniffling.
"Just haven't been in that room in a long time."
patrick nodded and pulled her closer to him, holding her tight to his chest as he stroked her hair.
she slowly drifted to sleep, the gentle his heartbeat reminding her that he was there with her for the entire night.
