Izuku's eyes snapped open and he quickly pushed the blankets off of himself. It was 11:15 p.m. and his parents were usually asleep by now. He grabbed his backpack from one of the hooks on the wall and tiptoed over to the window. He opened it and slipped out. Thankfully his room was on the first floor, so it was fairly easy to get out.
Over the past week his nightly outings with Aizawa have been the highlight of his days, besides hanging out with his brothers. Aizawa was so nice to him. Sure he was strict, and liked to pretend that he didn't care too much, but Izuku could see through the façade. He could tell Aizawa was fond of him. Maybe it was the way he would try to hide his smiles behind his scarf or the way he would ruffle his curls in greeting. Aizawa could pretend all he wanted, but Izuku new underneath his hard exterior, he was truly a softy.
"Hey kid."
Izuku whipped around, a grin on his face once he heard the familiar voice.
"Aizawa!" Izuku said excitedly, running over to him.
"You act as if you haven't seen me in months. It's only been, what? A little less than twenty four hours?" Aizawa rolled his eyes at the boy's enthusiasm, but ruffled his curls fondly anyway.
"You missed me too! I can tell!" Izuku smiled up at the man.
Aizawa raised his eyebrows. "Yeah? How so?"
"Well, you looked a little happier when you saw me, and I just know you missed me!" Izuku wrapped his little arms around the man's waist.
"You're a bit more clingy than usual." Aizawa voiced his thought aloud.
"I just love when I get to be with you." Izuku mumbled, his face pressed against Aizawa's side.
Izuku heard Aizawa hum and hug him close.
"Come on kid, let's get to our little hideout and then you can do whatever it is that you do while I--"
"Fight the bad guys, right?" Izuku interrupted, his eyes filled with stars.
Aizawa nodded. "Yeah, while I do that."
Izuku skipped alongside Aizawa as they made their way to a nearby rooftop. Aizawa knelt down and grabbed Izuku by his waist so that he could carry him up to the top of the roof.
On the roof, underneath a little overhang, there was a few blankets on the ground that formed a little nest.
Izuku quickly hopped over to the makeshift nest of blankets and sat down. He grinned up at Aizawa, who quickly covered his mouth with his scarf.
"Did you bring any snacks?" Izuku asked softly, pulling out his notebook and pens from his backpack.
"Of course, kid." Aizawa walked over to him and knelt down as he pulled out a paper sack.
Izuku let out a happy giggle as he grabbed the sack and looked through it. Since he didn't get much food at home, any food that he was offered was always greatly appreciated.
"Ohhh! So many jelly packets!" Izuku looked up at Aizawa and giggled. "You really like them, don't you?"
"Well yeah." Aizawa rolled his eyes. "They're delicious, and not even you can argue with that."
Izuku pulled out a grape flavored one and began to suck on it. "I love them too, so I don't think I would."
Aizawa let a soft smile show on his face as he ruffled Izuku's curls.
"I have to go now."
"You gonna kick some villains butt?" Izuku asked excitedly, his eyes shining.
"Yeah, kid. That's exactly what I'm going to do." Aizawa chuckled as he stood up.
