Cw: depression

Johnnie hasn't talked in a while. Currently he's sitting at the kitchen table, mindlessly scrolling on his phone.

Jake noticed Johnnie sitting at the kitchen table, he walked over and gently tapped him on the shoulder, "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, sounding concerned

Johnnie lifted his head. Stared. Then looked back down, giving his boyfriend the silent treatment.

Jake was now even more concerned. He sat down next to Johnnie and placed a hand on his thigh, "Are you upset with me?"

Johnnie didn't say anything, he just focused on the phone in his hands. Scrolling on his feed, ignoring Jake.

Jake sighed and leaned over to try and see what Johnnie was looking at.

Johnnie was just scrolling on Instagram, liking stuff he's interested in and such. Still giving his boyfriend the silent treatment.

Jake took Johnnie's phone out of his hands and put it on the table, "Please tell me what's wrong..." he asked gently, trying to make eye contact with him.

Johnnie watches Jake take his phone away. He looked up at Jake, his eyes looked a bit exhausted.

Jake looked back at Johnnie, his eyes were full of concern. He reached out and caressed his cheek, "You look tired..." he said softly.

Johnnie still hasn't talked. He just leaned into the touch. Before he gets up and walks out of the kitchen.

Jake watched Johnnie walk out of the kitchen and sighed. He was worried about him and decided to follow him.

Johnnie turned back on his foot, and went back to the kitchen. Grabbing his phone and then heading back to the living room.

Jake followed Johnnie into the living room, he sat down next to him on the couch and took his phone out of his hands again. "Talk to me, please..." he said, trying to be patient.

Johnnie rolls his eyes. He shakes his head and tucks up his knees. Resting his head on them.

Jake placed his arm around Johnnie and pulled him closer, "I don't like it when you're upset..." he said, "What's wrong?" He asked again, this time a little more sternly.

Johnnie sighed, "My depression is acting up. Okay?" He responded, bluntly.

Jake's face immediately softened, "Oh... I'm so sorry, baby..." he said, "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked, now feeling guilty for pushing him to talk.

"Because I didn't feel like being a burden." Johnnie replied as he gets up, walking upstairs.

Jake felt like he'd messed up big time, "Johnnie, wait!" He called out as he followed him upstairs.

"What?!" Johnnie turned once he reached the hall, before he turned back around and sped walk down the hallway.

Jake caught up to him and grabbed his arm, "Please don't walk away from me..." he said, his voice sounding a little desperate, "I don't want you to feel like a burden... I just want to help."

Johnnie rolls his eyes before he walks over and hugs Jake. He tucks his face into Jake's chest.

Jake hugged him back tightly, he rubbed his back and kissed the top of his head, "I love you, Johnnie..." he said softly, "I'm sorry for being pushy earlier..."

Johnnie didn't say anything, he just kept his face hidden into Jake's chest. Silently crying as he hugged onto Jake tighter.

Jake noticed Johnnie's shoulders shaking and tears falling down his cheeks. He held him tighter and started to sway back and forth, hoping that it would help him calm down.
