Amusing how the setting was unfamiliar, yet thoroughly captivating,
We reveled as if seasoned in its midst.
Time elapsed, my glass still lingering, halfway consumed,
Noticing yours, brimming with a kaleidoscope of hues,
Soon enough, the telltale signs of intoxication emerged,
We chuckled as realization dawned, you succumbing to inebriation.
As the hour for departure approached,
We navigated back to our lodgings, my arm supporting your unsteady steps,
Aware that any misstep could result from the alcohol's sway,
I tucked you into bed, watching over your peaceful slumber.
A gentle smile played on my lips as I watched you slumber,
Reluctant to disturb your rest, even though your position seemed uncomfortable,
Even in inebriation, your demeanor remained gentle,
In glimpses of vulnerability, your essence shines,
I knew that my devotion to you was as boundless as the starlit sky above
