Narrator's POV:
The boys were on the baseball field, practicing their swings and throws under the blazing mid-day sun. Woojin, Ri-an, Yoon-seok, and a couple of their friends are all there, sweating and grunting with exertion.
As they took a water break, Woojin spoke up. "Hey, has anyone seen Nabi and the others?"
Ri-an asked, "Nabi?? Did you invited them to come over our practice?" Woojin nodded taking deep, thirsty gulps from his water bottle, trying to cool down after the rigorous practice. Yun-seok and the others just shook their heads.
"Haven't seen them." Yun-seok said, one of the school’s top bullies and he acts as a henchman to Ri-an. He wipes his forehead with a towel as he speaks.
"They should be here by now." Woojin said looking around the field hoping for the presence of Nabi and the others.
As they took a water break, the guys sat down on the grass, wiping the sweat from their faces. They were all chatting and drinking water, trying to cool down from the heat of the day. Ri-an was sitting a little away from the rest, staring at the ground moodily. It was clear that he was still upset about the break up with Jae-i.
Woojin broke the silence. "Hey, Ri-an, how are you holding up?"
"What's up with Jae-i and you Ri-an? I heard Jae-i broke up with you." Yun-seok suddenly asked. Ri-an stayed silent for a couple minutes, looking a little uncomfortable at the topic. "Yeah, it was pretty sudden," he said.
"You guys seemed happy together, and then suddenly you're not. It's weird." Yun-seok said with a confused look on his face the others agreed Ri-an just sighs, Ri-an shrugged, not looking up. "I'm fine," he said, a little bitterly. "Just... trying to get over it, I guess."
Woojin looked sympathetic. "It sucks man, but you'll get through it," he said. "You just need time and some space to process everything."
"Maybe you should try talking to her?" Yun-seok suggested. "See if you can work things out?" Ri-an shook his head. "I doubt she'd want to listen," he said. "She made it pretty clear that she didn't want to be with me."
Woojin spoke up. "Maybe it's time to move on then," he said bluntly. "There are plenty of other girls out there." Ri-an looked up at that. "But I don't want any other girls," he said, his voice a little frustrated. "I want Jae-i."
Woojin put a hand on Ri-an's shoulder. "I know, man," he said. "But you can't force someone to love you. If she doesn't feel the same way anymore, then you need to respect that and move on."
The other boys nodded in agreement. "It's a tough situation," Yun-seok said. "But you're better off accepting it and focusing on yourself for a while." Ri-an sighed, looking back down at the ground. "I know you're right," he said. "It's just... it's hard, you know? She was everything to me."
